  • You and I are the same foundation shade (golden medium) so this review was suuuper helpful, thanks!

  • the concealers make my spots look pink :S and they seem to brush off when i go over my face with foundation

  • lol...i love how u fit 'Spring' in every picture frame...

My fav is 'spring'.....which is right there....and over here..is 'spring'..which is right there..cute..;)

  • can i just use the concealer as my foundation? do i have to put finishing powder after using the concealer? can i just use the kabuki brush to apply the concealer?

  • You can try to. It seems to be the same formula as the Intensive foundations, so use a light hand. U can use finishing power if you want to. I usually use a really small brush to spot conceal after applying my foundation. Then I go over those spots with the eye kabuki to blend it out.

  • hiya, i have a question about the elf compact. how does the pan from CS stick to the compact? because the pan is metal, so is the compact magnetized?

    thanks :)

  • Hello! The pan sticks to the compact because I put a magnetic strip on the bottom of it. I got the magnets (peel and stick) from Joann craft store but you can find it at any craft store.

  • thanks for the tip :)

  • "Baby and mama and papa."

    <3

I think it's so cute when you say that.

  • i want that brush now!

I'll get it with my next custom kit... for sure

  • Oh yeah, along the lines of pearl concealers... take any of your pearl concealers and apply them wherever you would want highlights on your face (underneath your foundation of course)then when you are all finished putting on your foundation over it, you already have a very natural looking highlight that lasts all day! Plus it's more of a subtle glow/shimmer for those girls who want the shimmer in certain areas without getting the original glow formula or investing in a highlight color :)

  • eye kabuki actually works great for any concealer work especially for using your concealer as an eyeshadow base! also (as i have two eye kabukis) i use mine for when i need to blend whatever color i use for the crease, to blend it up towards my eyebrow. kinda like when you go to far up with the crease color and you just need to blend it not away but just lighter (I'm having issues talking today too)

but anywho it works great for that!

  • hey can u order two sample kits in the same order or not?

  • No, you can only get one sample kit at a time.

  • just place two separate orders. thats what i did 3x =]

  • Haha, baby, papa and mama...lol you are adorable.

  • wow, thanks for the review, i have the sonia kushak brush and was debating whether or not i could use the eye kabuki for my crease! thanks for the comparison

  • i feel that peach just makes my dark circles darker but if i put my foundation over the concealer then it somewhat neutralizes the dark under eye circle.

  • That's great that peach works for you =) I like using a 2 to 1 mixture of Sunlight and Spring for my undereye area.

  • I can't get anybody from there c.s.d. to call me back so I have not placed an order with edm yet do you have any tip on what I should I do thanks ......lol

  • I have a few sample kits from eyeday minerals, and I having them pressed seems so much better. But where do you get the tin pan things to put the presses in? :)

  • The pans came from an empty palette from Coastal Scents but if you have any depotted eyeshadows you never liked, then you can just break up the shadow and use the pan. Makeupsquare had a great video where she made her own pans using tin foil! HTH =)

  • how are the press concealers holding up? just curious before i press mine. thanks. =)

  • They are holding up very, very well. The matte minerals hold up better than the shimmery eyeshadows which get powdery and hold together looser even though I used the same pressing method with both. I wore the Spring concealer down to the pan in the middle already and it's still holding up really good at the edges. The mixture should be like a soft, wet ball of putty. Not too wet and not too chalky. HTH

  • i know i use a blending brush as well for concealing!

  • Great idea=] I'm at work and all I want to do now is go home to press my mineral shadows!

  • LOL! It's sooo messy though but kinda fun! :)

  • good vid!

  • I love your nails! :-)

  • Thanks so much. They were a little tore up in the video but thanks! LoL =)

  • i usually just avoid the spillage mess by keeping the plastic sticker on the sifter and lifting the sifter to extract the powder. that way i can have the bottom facing upwards in storage and can easily find the things i want. It takes a LITTLE longer to get things done but definately an option if you don't want to press then =)

  • can u do a video of how u pressed the concealers? it looks so professional ;)

    really great video :)

  • I POST TOO MUCH

But, where did you get the 90% rubbing alcohol??? All I can find is 70%....

  • I got the 90% rubbing alcohol from Walgreens.

  • GAH, baby kabuki is sold out on the siiiiiiiiite.........

  • I speak like that a lot! I think I secretly studder and no ones pointed it out to me.....probably just me being CRAZY.

Thanks for the recommendations! I've been looking for a remotely cheap, soft kabuki(that's in the real world, not the interwebz) MMM I want me some kabuki

  • Yay thank you, thank you. I was placing my order w/ EM & I kid you not I decided to look into you tube to see some conceler colors & you had just placed this video. Yay. One question I can't find the baby kabuki brush. Do I have to get it in a kit or can I get it by itself

  • Just in time! You're welcome :)

For some reason, when EDM has something out of stock it completely disappears from their website. You can get it alone or in the kit, which I prefer since things are cheaper that way. HTH!

  • I was planning to use the eye kabuki brush as a crease brush but I guess I'll just use it for my nose and under eyes. Thanks for the video, as always!

  • You're Welcome =) You can still try using it on your eyes. It might work better for someone with a large eye area. Oh yeah, you can try it for cheek highlight. I know it may be too small for that but just hold it at a 45 degree angle and swirl it on to highlight your cheeks. That could work too. :)

  • do u have mac 217? how is it compared to edm eye kabuki as a concealer buffer brush?

  • I don't have the 217 but I've felt it at the counter and it's way smaller than the eye kabuki but the EDM bristles are super super softer. I haven't heard about the 217 used for concealer but you can try it :)

  • you can always use bisque (or any of the pear ones too) over some lip balm and it makes a lovely lip color :)

  • Thanks! I'll try that next time :)

  • Great Video! :-)

  • Thanks so much hun! =)

  • I've been using it for concealor too!

  • Doesn't it work better for concealer! It should be renamed "Concealer Kabuki" =D

  • Thanks very much for this encouraging vid! I do have the pearl sunlight but I never dared to use it as an concealer (too shiny) even though I do use an intensive o-glo mix as foundation.

Have you tried the pearl sunlight by itself or did you mix it with something else?

  • I tried it by itself but it was too dewy and plus I have oily skin so I don't need the extra shine. It works good though as an eyeshadow highlight :)

  • *chuckle* I tried it as an e/s base... and had to notice that the shadow would not stick on it (at least not for long) *lol* But well, we learn from mistakes, don't we? ^_-

  • Good stuff! Ok you totally convinced me on getting the eye kabuki!! I just ordered it and some more sample stuff!

Oh quick suggestion I have the Anastasia Eyebrow colors that you mentioned on getting and a great substitute for it is the Ardell Brow Defining Powder in Taupe you can get it at almost any drugstore for less then $5.00!! You should try that before spending on Anastasia.

  • Really? Thanks so much for the rec! I didn't know Ardell had brow powders. I'll check them out next time =) Hope you like your eye kabuki

  • thanx for this video, i love it

  • You're welcome!! Glad you liked it =D

  • "baby, momma, pappa" lol kute

wat a great idea to press the concealers

  • What a cute brush family huh? LoL

The pressed concealers are sooo much easier to work with. I don't have to open all these little jars anymore. =)

  • I LOVE EVERYDAY MINERALS!!!!!

    <3333

  • I know huh! I can't stop buying stuff. LoL =)

  • UGH i know, it's like an obsession lol. I cant wait to try their eyeshadows! I know you have summer stroll blush. And it didn't work for me as a blush, but it makes a beautiful eyeshadow! You should try it .. I used it in my latest back to school look. It looks awesome over Rubenesque Paint Pot.

  • Summer Stroll didn't work for me either but I haven't tried it as an eyeshadow yet. Thanks for letting me know! I got that Rubenesque PP too and I love it =D

  • Thanks for the review, girl!

I LOVE your videos! I get so excited when I see a new one!

    Take care! =)

  • You're Welcom hun! Thanks for taking the time to watch. Much <3

  • I second that

  • I recently had my makeup done professionally, and they used a crease brush to put on concealer. I think this is a great idea because it blends out the concealer and makes it look a lot more natural than some of those flat concealer brushes. Great video!!!

Quick question- do you think the amount of concealer in the samples is enough to press in a pan?

  • That was good to know! Thanks.

Yes, I think the sample is just the perfect amount or it might just be a little bit too much. You'll be fine with just three-quarters of the jar because when I did it with that amount, I pressed it with a quarter and some of the concealer would creep up the sides of the pan and I had to scrape off the excess. HTH :)

  • I have this brush too and I agree, its not realistic to apply eyeshadow. It makes a mess. Ive tried it and it just didnt work

  • I know huh? Try it for concealer or for covering blemish marks. Just swirl it on your face with your foundation color to build up more coverage

  • I will try that. Im probably the only person who doesnt like the EDM brushes. I dont even like the flat top brush. It doesnt apply well for me and it takes a century for them to dry. Ive been using the MAC 150 which I purchased last week. I love it so far

For my concealer, I use the multi tasking concealer and it works well for me. I am caucasian and I wear beige fairly light. Under my eyes, I use the studio fix foundation in the pot in NC20

  • Aww how can you not like em? =( Maybe the regular kabuki is better for you than the flat-top but people have their own preferences. I actually stopped using my MAC NC30 Studio Finish concealer (which I love) because I've been using Spring & Sunlight under my eyes instead. :)

  • I can't wait to get Spring so I can try ur combo mix for under eye concealing!!!

  • Let me know if that works for you. You can always play around with the mixture to get it right for your skin tone =)

  • The regular LHK was much denser when it was released first. I have a newer one and I don't like it anymore *sigh* So it might also be I got a defected one since the bristles got out of shape after a few washes... (some seemed to "get shorter"?)

  • I don't like all the brushes of EDM either though I move the FTB.

As for MAC brushes, I'm still so disappointed that they shad so much, even after washing them a few times. That's my reason for not buying any more - too expensive for the no-longer-top-quality. Sadly but true...

  • In other words would we mix the concealer & foundation together to build up more coverage? I just need clarification before I got and use my products up..lol..

  • OK what I do is conceal my undereye areas with Sunlight and Spring. Then I use Spring on any marks. Then I buff my foundation on in circular motions so that kind of rubs off some of the concealer on me just a tad. So if I have any dark marks that need extra coverage I'll get my little chisel brush and apply my foundation color to those area and use the eye kabuki to blend it out or you could just use the kabuki alone to apply a little bit more foundation on necessary areas. And blend it out

  • OMGosh thank you so much for the tip! I will definitely use these steps! I'm so excited!

  • this is so helpful! thank you! i bought this last month but i dont know how to use it.

Thank you for making this video!

  • You're so welcome! I really didn't like it for eyeshadow but for concealer it rocks =)
