i now have the game, cant say i like it much. it feels more like it should have been a ut3 mod instead a full game. its fun for a short time, but loses its luster quickly.

to a certain extent i agree. body armor definitely should make a difference, but i do remember extremely disliking the halo assault rifle. it felt useless emptying 9 magazines into someone (single player). though i admit that i haven't played section 8. wish there was a pc demo. might get it just because. wtb half off price weekend. >_>. i'll not say if something sucks and not have played

nah in pc the time it takes to kill someone is very shortened due to mouse and keyboard, but yeah in section 8 a long fight is actually fun unlike in halo 3 where it really gets old.

mouse and keyboard is defintely superior to gamepad for fps games. haven't played halo 3. halo 1 i liked only because of the story. the weapon resets and methods for modding stopped it from being much better. seriously the only thing that reminds me of halo about from this game is the assault rifle sound. so i cant agree with the people who keep saying its halo_alt. thanks for comments, ill give it a try.

This game is like what you get when you combine tribes, battlefield, and COD4. Then add in a new type of mission system that encourages team work. The different mission system looks really cool. Getting awesome stuff for fulfilling mission, like getting an awesome AI team mate for completing a VIP mission, or super tanks for finishing convoy missions.

yeah its pretty fun. i love the burn in spawning, it just sucks when someone burns in, locks on to you and shoots you down within 3-4 seconds. but on the other hand, there isnt "camping" anymore.

2 things they should change from me playing for just 2 hours or so, is the range of the assault rifles, and the strength of the snipers.

Uhh... play the beta and then say there is no strategy involved... If you go run-and-gun all alone, you're gonna die. Fileplanet has beta keys, go get one and try the game before making assumptions. Kills don't win this game, tactics do. You have to capture and control points while also completing mini-missions to earn more points. First team to a certain point total wins. Kill counts mean nothing if you don't earn points.

they say that you need to use advanced stratergies, you don't.

Like halo, don't get me wrong halos a sweet game but you don't need tactics unless you're on legendary or sometimes heroic.

i think it's gonna be one of those games were you just have to rush in and shoot them, unless you play as a stealthy person with that makes you faster but less shields, that's the only time you need tactics

uhh first off L4D was never supposed to be on ps3.. VALVe the company that created the game even stat in early production it was NOT going to go to ps3, Now mass effect ...that game was also never supposed to go to ps3 it was orginally just going to be on pc but was put on the xbox 360 first due to popularity. And of course Alan wake which was also never planned for the ps3. it was always going to be on the xbox. Also all of these games are not 360 exclusives every one will be on the pc. BITCH

What I like is they're taking a philosophy, or rather a concept and just imagining what would be an incredible game, then designing the gameplay around that idea. Not just taking a precedented and typical gameplay style and just changing the plot, setting, and character models. Hopefully they've got the talent and passion to really deliver some spectacular, because this has so much potential.

Can't really tell how this will turn out. I remember the hype around Shadowrun and Turning Point: Fall of Lberty before release - those games are mediocre at best. And yes, I know Halo 3 is overrated but that doesn't mean it's not a great game.

The only great FPS to come out that could compete w/ COD4 and Halo 3 is Frontlines: Fuel of War - that game is loads of fun on both SP and MP
