  • I pray that I'll be able to move as well as these guys in my advanced years: it's great!

  • I really enjoy this clip.

  • wow

  • Nice video. They perform 3 forms in this video. What is the name of the first one pls?

The second is Wu Xing Pao (Five form cannon - trans: Five attack sequences), the third is Ai Shen Pao (Close Body Cannon - trans: In-fighting form). Since this is shot in Shanxi, the name Ai Shen Pao is the correct name - not the modern name of An Shen Pao.

  • lol

  • Very Nice. Good music as well.

  • true kung-fu! great

  • These two are demonstrating the 6 hand methods of the 5 flower cannon, a routine for two people in Che style. However, obviously these 2 are so good that these pre-arranged exercises has a spontaneous feel to it.

  • is that osama?

    jk haha

but really, xingyi rocks. i love it.

  • Fuck these blokes are doing this on a roof top!

  • very nice

  • White beard has it - he's more adept in his footwork, which sets up his more effective strikes, which aren't a game even in a training exercise. He also appears to be the older man. Hsing Yi is truly amazing. On a different note, this video was flagged because someone in a position to take that action is an idiot. To that someone: thanks in advance for rectifying your mistake by unflagging this video.

  • White beard's spiral energy is also more refined; subtle.

  • "I agree, but they won't go as far as to break the opponent's arm."

Why not? You think that the old kung fu practitioners didn't have tempers? Haha, c'mon. They were human just like us. Some of them were saints, some sinners, some #@! wholes, some jealous, etc. The famous Guo Yun Shen.... I suppose though that he wasn't a real master because he had a temper. If you believe that, there are many things to learn for you.

  • Does anyone know who performs this song!?

  • that being said, I am very impressed with these men. it is one thing to show sensitivity while stationary but quite another to do with striking and freestyle footwork. every once in awhile these men would do a beng chuan charge, haha. it was ausome. the techniques of hsing yi were easily seen.

  • ChineseParadox: With all do respect, it is ridiculous to believe that this is what duels looked like. Duels were/are meant for one reason; to find out who is better. What these men here are doing is similar to pushing hands from taiji. It is technically sparring in essence. It is a way to test out and refine the skills you learn in drills and forms. In a real fight between these men, one of them would hit the other or joint lock him or whathaveyou and the fight would be over.

  • My point was that you can find out who's better without resorting to brutal violence. The masters of old probably had too much respect for each other to seriously hurt one another, so something like push hands or sticking hands would be the way to go.

"In a real fight between these men, one of them would hit the other or joint lock him or whathaveyou and the fight would be over."

I agree, but they won't go as far as to break the opponent's arm.

  • It doesn't just resemble "push hands" this is traditional Hsing Yi style push hands and force is often applied and tested, same as with traditional Tai Chi push hands is supposed to be. Many players use joint locks and sometimes even throws, but it is still a sensitivity and "find an opening" drill, not a fight.

  • where did you learn at?

  • Awesome! How old is the guy with the beard! Very impressiv! Nice video! Please unflag it!

  • Wow, I am learning Hsing Yi and this clip gives me a much greater appreciation for it! Hope I can move so graceful and superb when I reach their age.

  • why is this flagged?

  • one of the oldest and hardest INTERNAL martialarts... xin yi. The real Wu Gong!

  • GREAT vid, many thanks for sharing.

which dumbass has flagged this? can it be unflagged?

  • Beautiful. This must have been how the duels were like between the great masters of old. It's not about beating your opponent to a bloody pulp, but feeling out his weaknesses and reacting to them.

  • 中国功夫!

    目的:强身健体!

    学功夫时听到的第一个词是:武德!

  • They are very skillful. What their practicing is technique drills for those who don't know. Very sharp in execution and reaction. The aim isn't to punch each other in the face like western boxing, it's to learn and respond to your opponents movements.

nazgarl: "It's better to be quiet and have people think you're stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

  • I love your quote ShaolinWood. Those "young" guys are superb!

  • man is there any way to unflag this?

  • awesom!

  • get out.

  • Please go away. What did you expect to see when you saw a picture of two elderly gongfu masters as the image for the video?

  • I was watching this, again, and I was thinking: this looks and seems a lot better than any rehearsed duida that I have ever seen, and that is saying something. This un-choreographed, perfectly realised movement by extremely old people is better than the movement of 30 year olds practising well-rehearsed moves.

  • it's ridiculous that someone would have labeled this as inappropriate.

  • Very subtle. Imagine being that alive and aware into your old age.

  • *Beautiful* **Powerful**

  • who flagged this as innapropriate !

    its just beautiful!!

  • I agree with banjobilly. It was probably flagged by a Western person that doesn't know what the true essence of Kung-Fu is. They all think that matial arts is just beating the crap out of eachother. But its just as my teacher tells me: Kung-Fu is 40% finding yourself, 30% self control, 25% health, and only 5% violence.

  • not all western ppl are violence-mongering walkertexasrangers. some of us DO appreciate the finer points of kung fu. i thought this is a piece of art that is often forgotten and buried by hollywood. all martial arts practicers should aspire to as these two gentleman. hao zhi le

  • Just wonderful. They are strong, they are fast and wide awake yet not aggressive at all. I like this much more than "sparring".

  • only thing i see is the perfection of this 2 muslim elders

  • this isn't the muslim branch, that's henan

  • you donot know much

  • to be like these men when i am older is my wish

  • WHo flagged this as inapropriate?!! It only shows the ignorance of such a person to the positve benefits of Chinese Gong Fu practice. Shame on whoever flagged this.

  • I'd love to be doing this in my old age.

  • why the hell is this inappropriate?

  • It was probably flagged as inappropriate by a Western physician who thinks that old people should be in wheel chairs paying doctors to stay alive instead of maintaining good heal and vigor with Chinese kung-fu.

  • ecellent training !! its obvious that theyve trained this alot. most people dont know how to apply this kind of skill in real situations i think this video is priceless.

  • I love Tai Show

  • I second that.

  • awesome

  • While it might not have amazing practical fighting value. It is still amazing. The flow, connection, and ability to remain soft, adhere, and even "preemptive" blocking and avoidment of strikes is really impressive. Just two old guys playing around, I would love to do this just for recreational practice.

  • why dont you?

  • Not many people who can play around at this level of intuitive boxing. Or at least train the more inner aspects out here...most of them are either non-fight oriented internal practicioners, or young MMA kids that you couldn't teach em IMA if their life depended on it. We shall see if I find good partners.

  • That looked really nice. great skill displayed. they also clearly really enjoy what they do. too bad someone classified the vid as inappropriate.

  • Agree. Anyway to 'disclassify' this video?

  • AHAHA... I think the classifying this as inappropriate is more like a joke than its actual content.

  • Can I download this from anywhere?

  • Superb, the listening skill is very well developed. I wish my Xingyi was as subtle as this.

  • This are Shanxi Xugou XYQ practitioners. This videos were first made available by Mr. Wu Liming, Che style practitioner also from Xugou (small county in Shanxi).

It reflects some training from in that particular branch of Che style. This are several different Duilian exercises like Wuhuapao, Wuxingpao etc, done in different ways.

  • ok dudes rock...

  • great stuff ... nice softness and flow.

  • Ok for some old guys doing their thing .

  • the flow and sensitivity of these "old guys doing their thing" is a consummate display of skill!
