Scientists say that if we stopped using oil today, it would take 300 years for the atmosphere to return to where it was pre-oil use, so it will take at least that long to come up with another alternative so why not use what we have now, then let the atmosphere fix itself.

Respect what? This light switching nonsense? You cannot save anything with it. Moreover, you may damage the electricity network and help criminals rob the people who participate in such an outlandish action.

I'm turning on all lights, water, and the stove in celebration of God giving us all things richly in life to enjoy. The earth is not dying nor does it have a fever. Environmentalism is a religion for those who are empty and need a cause to propigate, that makes them feel good about themselves. Try turning off your lights permanently and stop breathing and this will greatly reduce carbon emissions. This is just such a dim witted idea to sit home in the dark not doing any good for anybody.

Yes, my country has been in dictatorship for 30 years and only recently got a new president who introduced democracy. I think the choice was good, as it was just for an hour and everyone knew. Anyway, its gone now... old news, I will welcome Vote Earth again when it comes!

I'm turning on all lights, water, and the stove in celebration of God giving us all things richly in life to enjoy. The earth is not dying nor does it have a fever. Environmentalism is a religion for those who are empty and need a cause to propigate, that makes them feel good about themselves. Try turning off your lights permanently and stop breathing and this will greatly reduce carbon emissions. This is just such a dim witted idea to sit home in the dark not doing any good for anybody.

I plan on burning a tire in solidarity for Earth Day to insulate the ozone with a concentric ring of sooty black smoke to block the harmfull U.V. sunlight and hence lowering our Earths temperature !
