i saw him in May '07 at Curtis Harrington's funeral service and he looked to have one foot in the grave. He couldn't stop telling people that he was having his service on Halloween of 09 and that everyone was invited.

Well,Anton said that he knew him well just before the COS was formed-so the connection is certainly inferred in Lavey's comments about him.
I agree that the archetypes of Ha-Satan (the Adversary)and the concept of Lux Ferros (the light bearer) are in no way similar except in the minds of evangelical xtians.

Is he still alive?Fuck!I can remember a guy I knew who saw him lecture at the Chicago art institute.He said that everyone was so takin' away with his youthful appearance,and apparently,everyone knew how he came to possess it as well.

LOl actually reading up on Anger he is actually not satanist in the sense i was joking. to be fair he seems to be a "occultist" who pulls from many, many mediums and beliefs. whatever his beliefs, he is the greatest living US born filmmaker, a one man anti aging spa and my hero.

No. He's not a Satanist. A big misconception about him, Jimmy Page, and Aleister Crowley. (And myself. I was just joking.) They are into the occult but that doesn't mean "devil worship." Witchcraft/Magick. Whatever you want to call it.

Well,to some degree,his rep as a Satanist is valid.After all,he was one of uncle Anton's pals and helped to form the Church of Satan.

I was going to say he's into Lucifer but Lucifer and Satan aren't the same thing. (Another big misconception people have.) But anyway, he did help form the church? Then we can indeed say Thelemic Satanist.
