I Agree. Manny's patience is mostly needed for him to win the fight. In Cotto's fight you see Manny's impetience. Mayweather will just backpedal and try to frustrate Manny. It will be a very boring fight. If Manny forces and tries make it more exciting, then he will lose.
I think what happened was Roach trained his fighter to fight the usual Cotto, the forward moving one. I did see the frustration on Pacquiao's face, seems they didn't anticipate the big guy to start backpedalling.

Pacquiao - fast, power, stamina, heart. It will go 12 rounds. I think Pacquiao will have the slight edge.

I agree about Manny not knowing what to do in those later rounds when Cotto was running, but... Manny still won those rounds. If Floyd decides to run like that the judges will not look too kindly on it. Watch the Malinagi vs Diaz fight. Malinagi ran around and outboxed Diaz but still lost the fight. This fight seems really close and it may depend on whos judging that night, and what they want to see.

You're definitely right...Floyd is a defensive genius who fights that way to give him time to figure out his opponent...then he beats them down in the later rounds when he sees what he can exploit....he's going to frustrate the hell out of Pacquiao and look for those blatant leaks in Manny's defense...Manny showed against Cotto that he can take a punch...the question is can Pacquiao keep Floyd hurt and so busy that he gets to land a knockout blow??? My guess is floyd by TKO or decision...

Pacquiao WAS going easy. That's how he is. He's too nice sometimes. If u see the footage of the De La Hoya/Pac fight, that Pac let up in the 8th round also. That also happened in the Cotto fight and Roach had to make Pac knock Cotto out.
That said, Pac has supreme stamina. He sometimes fights 20 rounds straight during training. Chasing someone around won't be an issue for him.

Thats one thing that Pacman really likes to fight a defensive opponent like MW jr. I guaranty you, that's Pacman's favorite opponent likes to Knock out. If you saw all Pacman's fights since he started Pro boxing, Pacman always comes forward and throws more combination to his opponent. I guaranty you, Floyd will get badly hurt.

I Agree. Manny's patience is mostly needed for him to win the fight. In Cotto's fight you see Manny's impetience. Mayweather will just backpedal and try to frustrate Manny. It will be a very boring fight. If Manny forces and tries make it more exciting, then he will lose.

I think what happened was Roach trained his fighter to fight the usual Cotto, the forward moving one. I did see the frustration on Pacquiao's face, seems they didn't anticipate the big guy to start backpedalling.

Its definetly a tough one to call. But its shown that mayweather has had problems with southpaw fighters....but its also fair to say that pacquiao has had problems with counter punchers as well...BUT the difference between marquez and floyd is that marquez is more resilient and has a pretty strong chin (he's never been KO'd before). I think if mayweather gets tagged with a clean punch, he'll be "DANCING WITH THE STARS" again.

Well the difference between Floyd and Cotto is that Floyd dances ALL THE TIME...its part of Floyd's fighting style to dance, whereas its NOT part of Cotto's style to dance.....so Pacquiao would expect and know what to do given the strategy Freddie Roach would implement in this fight....when they fought Cotto, they were not expecting Cotto to dance and back pedal and thats why Pacquiao just stood there and just slowly picked him apart.

You know what, I was thinking about the same thing. When Cotto started boxing and back- pedalling on the later rounds, Manny was somewhat frustrated and have no idea how to react but just chase him around. Again same boat with you, its hard to predict who will win because both fighters are skilled fighters. Mayweather - superb defense, fast, good counter puncher, not easy to hit. Pacquiao - fast, power, stamina, heart. It will go 12 rounds. I think Pacquiao will have the slight edge.

you can't back pedal on manny because he will eat you alive.he is a very fast southpaw who will come rushing in not in front of floyd but way outside floyd's left.this will give floyd problems on how to counter such assault.floyd's only chance is to face pac and counter him a lot.

pacquiao was frustrated because he didn't see any sense for the fight to continue. the only chance cotto had to win at that point was to go for a knockout, but he kept retreating. pacquiao was frustrated for the fans. he wanted to put on a show and show the world his masterpiece but his canvas kept moving. at some point floyd will be forced to attack pacquiao if he suspects he is behind on points. pacquiao will be the more active and accurate fighter and judges will favour him.

@sgsfightclub - just like someone said previously, pac and freddie did not figure cotto would backpedal that way. but they know, floyd will in the worst way. so, do you think they will not prepare (if they ever fought) for floyd's running/backpedalling style? if pac can not minimize (if not control) floyds backpedalling (and gets frustrated) then he may lose by sd/ud. but, we get a rematch - if floyd does not retire first, like he did de la hoya.

In the last 5 rounds Cotto wasn't fighting Pac he was running away. Hard to beat a fighter who won't engage. Ref should have stopped it if for no other reason than only one guy wanted to fight.
On the other hand watching Floyd fight these days is like watching the old NC Tarheels run the "four corners offence". It's a win, but it bores you to tears. Tag you're it...tap and run...hide and seek. I'm American, but I'll be cheering for the Filipino to beat fellow American Floyd Mayweather.

This is gonna be a great fight but im leanin towards Pacquiao. Floyd has problems with guys just as fast as he is, just look at the first few rounds with zab. also to beat floyd you gotta be able to throw combinations and no one throws em faster than Pac does. Pac wont be scared of floyds power at all but he'll have to cut off floyd and i think manny has fast enough movement to do so.
