Det er jeg ogs :D Jeg tænker på at starte til bujinkan. Har nemlig gået til karate og synes det blev lidt... Ja.. Du kan næsten ikk bruge karate nu til dags.. Men.. Er bujinkan taijutsu ikk fornyet... Jeg mener inspireret af hverdagen?
good to see that you are enthusiastic but just some word of advice: uke attackes with a punch, you use your bokuto (or bokken) slit his arm, throat etc. I did teach this to some of my students before but then you have to ask yourself about the seriosness level of this action; you really want to kill someone that was just punching you?
other thing; careful when training with bokuto in the belt ,this can give you a very false feeling of drawing a sword as it is very easy compared to a real 1
you´ve got to work on your swordmanship. Don´t drop you´re blade behind your back when cutting, because of that your blade will have a longer way to go than necessary, watch some Kenjutsu Videos for reference.
@hultizen Well... u start a 10. kyu(White belt.).... then you climb from 9-2. kyu(Green for boys, and red for girls.).... then achieve the 1. Dan(Black belt.)... from that theres from 1 - 12. Dan.... Correct me if im wrong :)
@defected86 Actually, there's only three belt colours in ninjutsu. 10th to 9th kyu is white, Then 8th to 1st kyu is green. 1st dan and above is black.
not exactly, green/red belt go from 9 to 1, and then you take the exam to go from 1st kyu to 1st dan, which is the first black belt, after that, you have from 1 to 15 grades which are black belts. You can distinguish 1-5, 6-10 and 11-15 with the bujin
Try training at the same speed your partner is going. For example don't just make the move and stop(I know you didn't do this with all the moves) I find it helps keep my training real. Also whenever you are the attacker always aim to hit your opponent. If you're attacking and he gets out of the way too early don't just finish your attack adjust like you would if it were a real fight. Hope this is somewhat helpful :)
I study in Romania (Eastern Europe), i'm also 7th kyu and i prepare to take an exam in about 2-3 months max., but i really don't care either about the grade...maybe just for encourage myself a bit...what truly counts is to practice and to like what youre doing ;). For example i really take my practice serious (not to extremes of course) because i really want to become one of the best in this art (at least this is my dream, maybe its kind of sily but...) :D
oh and by the way...those are some pretty good moves at your rank...wich one is that? using your imagination is part of the ninjutsu training system in my opinion ;) keep on training !!!
I am 7th. kyu, but I think it is waay to high hehe... but still, it does not matter which rank I am... what matters is, that I will continue to improve myself :).
yeah, and that will take many years of training :) I have only been training for a little bit over a year. It is just so fascinating. :) I will keep practicing and I will "keep going" :) Just like Soke says. For how long, have you been training?
I have a suggestion for you two guys. Instead of just inventing techniques and trying to be spontaneous, have a go at PROPERLY learning techniques and kata. That way, you wont have to keep relying on uke to fall over because you don't know how to apply EFFECTIVE techniques. You could train like you are here for the rest of your lives and you'd never become genuinely good at taijutsu/jujutsu. This is the Bujinkan at its worst.
hehe of course we are training properly :) this was just filmed before the real training begins. Bujinkan is also all about finding your own style, in terms of using basic techniques :).
I totally respect your point of view, but my view of bujinkan is, that it is an art that keeps changing. And improvisation in a real fight, is very important :) because when a real attack comes, the defender(Which we are) will only be thinking using his/her instincts, and budo. :)

Where are the adults to supervise these kids?
Very poor technique - shouldn't be playing with bokken like that when you don't know what you're doing.
