@Jovanalfonso No. It wouldn't fit the propane cylinder for a start,and the pressures are different between acetylene and propane gases;you have to use a dedicated propane regulator for oxy-propane cutting. If you go to a good welding gear shop or an industrial gas company gas and gear depot like Linde/Union Carbide/Air Products/BOC/Airliquide and tell them you want a propane cutting tip, they will sell one to you.
If you are in the US, all you need is the propane cutting torch tip (except in rare cases where internal torch components aren't compatible). Regulator fittings that are CGA-510 fit propane tanks nicely, and though the pressure range of acetylene regulators doesn't go as high as propane regs they are usually quite adequate.
Internal regulator part compatibility can be verified simply by calling customer service.
I just boucht an oxy acet torch and I am needing it more for heating. SO do you know where you would get a conversion kit to get it from acet to propane? thanks
@wilbeckj Go to a BOC/Linde/Union Carbide/Air Products/Air Liquide etc Gas & Gear
Centre and you will find all you need to convert from acetylene to propane;you'll need a propane reg,flashback arrestor,propane hose,and propane cutting nozzles.
Light up the propane with a sparklighter;you'll see a yellow tipped bluish flame on ignition. Turn on the oxygen and slowly add to the flame;it'll turn blue and adjust both gases at the torch until you see finely defined lightish blue inner cones and feathering blue tail coming off the end of the flame. You're now ready to cut! Heat up the edges of your metal till they glow bright red and press the lever and slowly draw the torch along the metal to cut until the end of it.
One of the best instructional videos I ever seen . Lot of trash videos on YouTube this vid is like a oasis.

If you need to heat large areas a normal tip won't heat, order a propane rosebud tip. See makers chart for appropriate sizes.

@AnthonyUK what does the lever do that makes it start cutting? i have a oxy propane torch without one is it just magic lever someone explain please
Mooseboy240 11 months ago
@Mooseboy240 The lever adds a big shot of extra oxygen into the flame to heat the metal super-hot and cut it.
