A few interesting Leon Facts... Leon and Matilda's relationship was originally suppossed to be more sexual & sinister but was scrapped and scenes deleted, Portmans Parents nearly stopped her playing the part because of her role in the movie. The director Luc Beson made this movie especially so that Jean Reno could play the part of Leon. This Movie launched natalie Portman & Jean Reno and showcased what great actors they were, although this was not Reno's 1st movie. My favourite movie ever!

@nzccm I think if you actually take the time too watch the film Leon is a loner thats how he has to be to do what he does, in the scene where she is at the door begging to come in and he is hesitant as he does not want to get involved and expose himself clearly shows he is not a PAEDOPHILE.. I think maybe the scenes of them being close is just because Leon has always been a loner and now he can share something with someone who he has not got to fear anything from..

@nzccm I saw the scene where they slept on the same bed which again preferred by the kid. I see this as a fatherly love for Leon but the kid wanted it the other way around. And almost all of the people would see this less of a pedophile affair. I heard that the character Mathilda shouldn't really be a 12 year old but Natalie made the character better that's why they chose her. But if the kid was around 18 probably they would do adult scenes here.

The directors cut is filmed in English so I think that how it was intended. Amazing cast among the key charachters. Great film. If you haven't seen it try to get the directors cut version of The Professional (Not titled Leon)
