oh and the irish never copied of the scottish with bagpipes in fact during the medievel times irish villages couldnt afford there own musical instrument so the made it out of mainly animal hides and bones so please dont get our bagpipes mixed up with the scottish they may look and sound the same but come from a totally different ancestry.
@britnorse No nothing except that that the Scots pipes (The irish war pipes) originate in Ireland, like Whiskey, the Scottish language ( a dialect of the Irsh language) and the very name Scot, which originally referred to an Irishman. Nought to do with Scotland you mean.
Want a real laugh look TV coverage of the St Patrick's Day Parade in New York. The parade kicks of with Celtic Thunder singing (rather badly) that great Irish song 'Caledonia'. Check it out on YouTube.
@Celticarchie1 Nitpick. How about this one. Watch Rob Roy or any Scottish themed film What do you hear Pipes. Irish pipes. Irish wolfhounds in abundance. Tara broaches et al.
Your language. Uisce beatha, your music, your names. All Irish. You have the Kilt. Pity it was invented by an Englishman.
Irish would never invent a fuckin plaid kilt crusader!! Piss off!! You should join the military and wear a kilt, tell me the colour when your done, cause it wont matter laddie.
BTW these pipes aint Irish they're Scottish (even though these people are probably of Irish nationality). I hate to be pedantic but it just bugs the fuck out of me how Americans cofuse irish and scottish culture.
@TheYearTwentyTwenty Bagpipes and ullian pipes have been played in Ireland for many centuries now. Americans, like me, have roots to these lands and know the difference. Cultures have crossed since the beginning and you should understand that. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, and you should be complimented, and not "bugged the fuck out of".
@xdemmons I know. But it annoys me to think that people don't know the difference. I'm glad that people who actually enjoy this music allready know the difference. Don't get me wrong it is a compliment, but Scotland and Ireland have been stripped of most their culture and have a similar backstory, its too easy to take whats left and meld them together. I know what you mean though.
@TheYearTwentyTwenty Scotsmen will always be known here for the plaid kilts and bagpipes, proud strong people who love their land as much as the emblematic thistle. You have fought for your identity and wear it proudly! You have our respect and admiration!
cornwall should be considered the 5th home nation it is very distinct. Im a proud brit jus not proud of our governments treating there own ppl like shit. Fuck em. Erin Go Brah. Du Et Mon Droit. Make the UK at peace once again, it tares my fucking heart.
When we were in Ireland last summer and visited Dingle, we visited some of those stone beehive huts in the middle of a field of sheep. I heard one sheep baaah, and he sounded just like a bagpipe !
So I now think the bagpipe bands are mimicking the sounds of bleating sheep, LOL. It's a beautiful sound to my Irish ears.
The flag represents Cornwall, in southern England. Cornwall is also considered to be one of the six (or seven, depending on who you are) Celtic Nations.
Irish clans from the North West and North East had tartan for as long as any Scottish clans, the bagpipe was played and has been played in Ireland for as long perhaps longer than Scotland and Irish and Scottish bands play songs from either country as well, great music is great music.

Cornish Cross.
Wales and Cornwall became bastions of celtic culture after the romans invaded, they were the only areas of celtic land not taken south of the border.

Do you wear earplugs when playing bagpipes? They are kind of loud. I want to rate the song as five clovers.
