I still don't get our arguement for war with Iran. Both Iran and the USA signed the NNPT and the IEAE say's that there is NO evidence that Iran is trying to produce nuclear weapons. Please explain why we need to go to war.
I do not support a war with Iran. I think all this WWIII talk is from the Bush Neo-Cons who worry that Iran will be THE regional power in the Middle East now that Iraq is falling apart. In the 1980's, the United States actually supported Saddam and armed him in his war against Iran...
Iran has the chance to avoid war, however it is at serious risk from airstrikes if it continues to defy the United nations security council.
It is not just Israel, Britain and the USA that are speaking out against Iran.. France and Germany see the threat aswell and if negotiations and sanctions fail. Action must be taken.
The target would be Irans nuclear facilities.. yes there would be civilian casulaties, but it is the last option.. If Iran fails to comply its gonna happen sooner or later.
We have already declared Iran a terrorist sponsoring nation.
I don't think it would be a good idea to be at war with three Islamic countries at the same time... Perhaps "containment" would be a better option, as we did with the Soviets.
It wont be a full scale war with the west having to invade like Iran, but there are huge implications. Iran wouldnt just sit back and take it theyd want revenge. And i worry about Israel, American troops in Iraq, Nato troops in Afghanistan and other important assets in the middle east they could strike.
There would have to be a large naval and airforce deployed to the region to deal with Irans response to the attack.
I don't worry about Israel a bit. They have a wonderful Air Force, Army and intelligence service. They also have nuclear bombs... We are not the protector of Israel. Israel has stolen so many military secrets from the U.S. that they should do just fine in any major war.
Israel is clearly the major military power in the middle east and they would be able to take out Irans nuclear facilities, but the response could seriously hurt Israel.. they will need American back up
lol any American president be they republican or democrat (With the exception of Ron Paul) will defend Israel.. they have such a powerful lobby in Washington they will always have American protection. :)
hell the U.S gives them billions in aid every year, they are hardly a 3rd world nation :) American tax payers pay for Israels military and its illegal occupation of Palestine.

All of the american media is biased to Israel, including the mainstream media. Most Americans always take the Israeli side over the Palestinian one, has been the case for decades and is one of the reason muslims and Arabs hate America.
The best option is sending a strong message, a united message saying Iran is not going to get the bomb and the west WILL bomb them, if they dont comply.
It doesnt help that theres a US election coming up and the democrats seem very weak on this issue. It also doesnt help some European countries like France / Germany are talking tough but not imposing harsh sanctions.
