@Yrhp8268 If I might interject with my informed opinion, I should say that sexual preference is a scale, it's not 3 separate boxes. You can be sorta-kinda bi, sorta-kinda gay. At the end of the day, it comes down to what that person prefers. That's why I alsways term it a sexual preference in my writings :p
For an example of what Savage was talking about, I'd look at Transsexuals. Some of them are really hot, yet they're sex is male. I'm a lesbian, but I wouldn't mind a trans girl.

He is totally oversimplifying the differences between men and women.
He will never know the frustration of straight men who have the drive for variety that gay men have but never ever get to act on it because women need us to provide for them. This fact I believe is why us straights have a problem with the gays. It's just unfair. Of course women get play with lesbianism. Women have an easier time psychologically crossing the line. Fewer consequences.

You also have to remember that women's sexuality is much more emotionally driven, where as men's is more physically driven initially. I have no real problem with what Dan is saying, but I do think that that could explain the difference of same sex casual hook ups between men and women. I am a straight male and I can honestly say I have not met a man yet that I am sexually attracted to.. not saying it doesn't happen to straight guys, but yea..

Group-think and financing at the hands of statists and religions (just another form of statism in my estimation) can be incredibly immoral though. How many Christians did the predominantly jewish/atheist led Bolsheviks kill? I think it's time statism disappeared and individual liberty, rights and responsibilities replaced it.

My brother is straight. and i totally believe what you're saying. cause his boyfriend is his exception. All his life he's been straight. Been in some serious relationships with girls. then he met Blake and liked him a lot. They've been together two years now ^_^. I think the reason people get that way about male homosexual episodes and not about lesbian episodes is because technically women can fake it, go through the motions without being aroused and men, well, it gets a bit harder. Not really impossible, just harder.

Dan Savage is a funny guy with plenty of good insights. He sees sexuality for what it is. Its a chemical reaction and sometimes someone outside of your "preference" just may get your chemicals churning. There are plenty of shades of gray when it comes to people and their sexuality.
