what actually happened...was that the owners of the cat forgot that it was asleep on top of an open garage door and closed the garage door...it got caught by it's head...when the owners came home and found their cat like that they rushed it to the vet...it was fine just VERY PISSED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not necessarily in a shelter and hasn't necessarily been mistreated either. My cat acts the same way at the veterinarians, but she's just fine at home. It's likely nervous because a) It's around other cats b) It's outside his/her territory and c) It's in a confined space.
