Free energy labeled 'economic terrorism' - The widespread adoption of these new, non-polluting energy and propulsion systems will effectively replace the use of oil, gas, coal, nuclear power, impacting 4.5 trillion dollars a year in world economic activity, replace the current? geo-political order with one based on decentralized abundance. (Examiner; March 21, 2009)
@mikehanoo33 Its not "free energy" as you call it. This can be one of a lot of new clean technologies. In the near future we use electricity, airpower, fuel cells, ethanol,..... Bettina
These are more like the next generation of steam engines. Steam generation is much less contentious and can be relative pollution free. Plus Steam tech has been slowly simmering for the last 100 years so there have been improvements. Air is not likely to get significant funding and would need decades to catch up to steam if it did.
Still Air does bring pollution free propulsion to the arena.
Even though I build air engines, they have zero potential. Why? summary: fossil fuels (petrol) are burn for an internal combustion engine generator. The generator then produces electricty, which then runs a compressor. The compressor generates compressed air, which is then stored for use in the car. Thinking of it simply, it's basicly like a coil spring; you put power in, it's stored, then can be released again when needed. Elictrity also follows these traits, although it can be used in-
All cars run by air? What would you have us use to compress the air with. Think the cycle through before you invent something that no one else can figure out
"All cars should use air!" There is nowhere near enough torque to run a car and if there was, the air tanks would need to be larger than the car to travel anywhere
im pretty sure gasoline is better than the machines that have to compress the air? as if people havent already tried... and failed. gas is still the best mobile fuel source we have in terms of efficientcy and energy output (bang for buck)
why the hell does everyone think that alternative energy sources are slower than feul, if you dont invest in a good motor then of course its not gonna go 200kph!
i bet a car that could run of air its wayyy far from what we know. Companies such as toyota, nissan, ford, etc. are trying now to make electric powered cars. But it wouldn't be amazing to have a car that runs on air??
thanks to lobbyists, the oil companies wont let at least th US government will NOT ever use this untill there is absoultly no oil left, but dont worry that will only take about 50 more years.
well then you get whats called a bigger ocmpresoor, and carbon fiber tanks that for one, can hold up to a much higher psi, and two obivously you could make bigger than the small ones you use.
Yeah, well, at least the electricity to power the air compressor can be produced by non-fossil fuel means, such as wind (already available in Colorado and other states) or solar. And the air engine still produces zero emissions. The Australian rotary air engine can run a small tractor, boat, and more. This stuff is legit.
That would help to recoup some of the energy losses. I think that large diesel electric trains use a 'regenerative braking system' which is similar to what you describe. IIRC they use the motors as generators which slows the train and generates electricity.
Hmmm..it seem to me that if your going to power a vehicle why not go with existing technology..like..umm..air tools...i use air tools every day and they have already been engineered to be as efficient as possible..the work has already been done..i dont think a hybrid rotary engine would be anymore powerful or efficient as any current air tool turbine setup.
an engine is defined as "A machine that converts energy into mechanical force or motion" an engine doesn't produce it converts energy. A petrol engine coverts chemical energy into kinetic energy. This engine converts potential energy (stored in the compressed air due to the repulsion of gaseous atoms) to kinetic energy (movement of the output shaft). I agree with you that this is not a true engine as it is essentially converting one form of kinetic energy into another. I'd refer to it as a motor
can it produce enough horsepower to move a car? estimates?

so why don't we use compressed air to either power the generators in hybrid cars and not an ICE (internal combustion engine)?

yes we can - lets try it.

All cars should use air! Ok, we would only be able to go like 80 km/h, but at least we wouldn't be fucking up the ozon layer!

If can can be used on heavy vehicles then smaller ones should be no problem.

when will this type of technology be applied to the market? it is very important that consumers have a taste of what this technology is capable of.

I agree! I didn't know this until recently, but you can make a decent car using air powered motors.

what though if you connected heavily geared pumps to to say a clutch system that acts as a brake conerting braking power back into reusable energy

generates how much 'no power'?
Air tools have a use? Yes
Why? because they use the air to generate a mechanical motion that is then used in the tools 'function'.
For ex: An air drill will 'drill'.
An air motor... will power anything you strap it too.
Switch your other braincell on before you comment please.

Well, it is turning an output shaft. The infernal combustion engine does the same thing, albeit in a different way.

Sounds like low RPM reciprocal involved. But obviously some kind of off-center vanes.

Its manufactured in switzerland. but its an old one - 2 years ago. The new one is much more efficient. New videos will follow soon.
