I used to work midnights for a youth treatment facility, watched this informercial many times during the nights a couple years back. It for sure reminds me of my time there. Sadly, they shutdown the division I worked for last March. I called it quits after over four years.
The only infomercial I can't change the channel on. I particularly enjoy the passionate ghetto/junkyard dancing of the girl and the guy who wears his sunglasses at night during Toto's killer hit, Rosanna (3:43).
(in a monotone voice) "wow...what great memories..."
They left out the halirous clips of the woman sitting next to them talking about the collection. Every time air supply sang something she would turn to the camera and say "WOW! AIR SUPPLY!!!" like she just realized she was sitting next to FUCKING AIR SUPPLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to go look up her part - it IS hilarious! And so, um, natural, unrehearsed, genuine, heartfelt. Geez, like they were all on downers or depressants!! And the music is GREAT - takes me back!!!
haha i just saw this lastnight on fox it was cheesy but i was all fried and it made me laugh my ass of lmao i couldnt keep a smile on my face as long as they did :S lol rock on air supply
I WISH I HAD A HOUSE ON THE LAKE! I love this infomercial I watched it probably 100 times last summer when it was on all the time. I know all of these songs from when I worked at a discount retail store that I am too embarrassed to name. I used to stock shelves and run cash register jamming to some Hall and Oates, Seals and Crofts and AIR SUPPLY! And who could forget Gino Vanelli 'I JUST WANNA STOP! AND TELL YOU HOW I FEEL ABOUT YOU BABE!' and 'LIVING INSIDE MYSELF, LIVING INSIDE THIS SHELL,LIVI

"All By Myself" reminds me of Half Baked, and I definitely can't hear "Kiss You All Over" without seeing Happy Gilmore licking an apartment intercom in my head!
Well, I "came of age" in the 70's and while I said I like most of the music, maybe I should have said "much" of the music. As for the Pina Colada song, I... never liked it! No, never. But it was like the song "Crystal Blue Persuasion" by Tommy James and the Schondells from 1969 in that they played it ALL THE D*MN TIME on the radio!!!! I would simply turn the radio off for about five minutes every time it came on.
This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I can no longer listen to Into the Night now that I've seen that video clip of Bennie Mardones singing into the pay phone.
22 years? Ha! Ha! Just saw it about an hour ago. Still, I like most of the music. Spent the 70's in high school and college. Some good times with the girls to this music. Soft was in then.
Did you notice Graham Russell playing a right-handed guitar lefty (pick guard is on top)? An unattributed Wikipedia article says he's a left-handed player who plays "upside down" (guitar strung for right handed play, so high E string is on top playing lefty).
01:50 -Some People like a fine wine, some people like an ice cold beer... * Air Supply I love both!! If ever you are in the Orlando area... Its my round - You guys are classic!!
1:27 - When I hear a great soft rock song...it always takes me back to a relaxing place.. like the beach, or a house on the lake :-).. - Its like he realizes that the script is solid gold sh!t - The world most addictive infomercial!! - Great Job Air Supply!
Haha! Exactly 22 hours ago I was watching this on TV.... stupid Paid advertising ^.* Thanks for sticking it up though so I could get some of the songs off it easier than calling up life time ^.^
I heard that a few minutes after they filmed this infomercial, Russell and Graham drank too much pina colada and went psycho on their suite at the Hotel Bel Air and set it ablaze.
That's the funniest youtube comment I've read all day! Anyhoo... These guys are unfairly criticized for a couple over-played somewhat saccarine songs. What people need to know is that they have evolved musically yet they're still the same as they started. People should check out their News From Nowhere album.
it's painful precisely because I'm NOT a hater, or I wasn't back in the 80's; it hurts to hear him seeming to strain to get those notes. I never saw them live, maybe it was like that in the 80's while on tour, too. Plenty of other commenters said more hateful things than me, go rag on them, instead.
omg i watch this every single time it airs on tv. i laugh at it. gino vanelli lmao the pitcher of lemonaide on the coffee table. air supply actually trying to sing. love it...
LOL very cheesy infomercial, but i saw a different version last night that was cut down to about a minute. It had different songs playing like "Horse with no name". But there's one song that i really want to know the name of, it was the only one not having a title for the video and it had a guy playing the sax. Any help with identifying this song would be appreciated.
2:47 It's Chris Kattan (or however you spell his name). It's him! Well, you know. But I completely agree with the Exile singer comment. That is one oogly man.
i wish they showed Benny Mardones's song 'if ic an fly '. a lot of people think that song has no music vidoe clip. but watching that ad, there was one.
I think it's "Baby Come Back" by Player. There was once a funny bit on the Simpsons where Homer felt terrible because he lost Maggie when he was babysitting her, and when he calls the missing children hotline and is put on hold - that 's the song that is playing.
I was never a big fan of Air Supply, but I recently saw them in concert and they were fantastic. I didn't realize how many hits they had. Also, they put on a great show. After all these years, they got a new fan.
Air Supply were the kings of soft rock music in the 80's- they were all over the radio, I believe that is why they did the infomercial. AND they do still play to sell out crowds, all over the world. You go guys, keep up the hard work you do- your fans appreciate you! :)
Yep, Air Supply is still recording, touring, going strong and is still hot. Everyone is doing infomercials these days. It's fun and doesn't mean anything other than they were invited to do this one and said Yes. I bought the Time Life set and love it. Tons of songs - all favorites with great memories. Air Supply has brought us joy for 30 years and will go on and on and on. Thank you Air Supply for making this world a better place.
hahaha. oddly enough, I wanna be there with them smokin that fat doob between takes and drinking that awesome lemonade. at times the guy on the right isn't even talking, just smiling with this giant cheesy stoned smile. they don't even sound sincere, just getting a fat paycheck. I love it!! And I'll find the songs I like for free somewhere;)
reduced to infomercials? what have you been smoking? Air Supply still tours the world to sold out audiences everywhere. What happened to all of those other 80's bands? since you are so critical, how many records or cd's have you recorded? That's right, NONE, I rest my case. Air Supply ROCKS! Go Graham, Go Russell! Air Supply is the BEST! They look awesome in this "infomercial" if that's what you call it. Russell has the most awesome voice and Graham is a fantastic songwriter and musician!
Why does the value of my opinion depend on whether or not I've recorded any music? It's just that -- an opinion that you can either agree or disagree with.
I love this commercial! It's addictive. If you're a child of the 70s and 80s you know EVERY song and can't stop watching. Plus, the Air Supply guys are kinda funny here, and they can still sing!
