Awesome, thanks for the instructions, I am in the process of making a scarf for the Canadian Special Olympics 2012 thanks to your video. Do you have a video on how to change colors?
i'm teaching myself to crochet (i'm a knitter by trade) and i cannot figure out how to keep my chain neat like yours as i continue my work.. my chain stitch seems to start to curl in and it looks really warped the farther i go into my work. am i going to tightly? i hope this made sense.
i would LOVE to use this stitch in my current throw (sz I needle)- i have a couple of 14" long crochet needles-- 6mm & 5.5mm. can i use these needles? & the finished size of my afghan throw will be approx 65"X69" inches -- HOW does one go about using the crocheted tunisian stitch on a long/wide project like this?? use more than one needle? add on to the 14" needle with tape and a dowel rod?? haha!!! i have NO CLUE!!! can you give me any suggestions?
Great video. I couldn't get how to make the last stitch before, but now I can do it. I still have one problem - the first stitch in the row. It is always so much bigger than all the other stitches and I can't figure out why. Any ideas?
wow truly impressive - I have received those kinds of hooks many years ago from my mother in law and although I crochet and knit and a lot of other ... I couldn't figure out what this crochet were about - thank you for a very helpful, detailed and complete video. Thanks, Diane
Thankyou so much for your vids... My afghan needles arrived today... your vids have been very helpful... think it may take me a while to do the purl though!!! LOL
This video was really easy to follow. I have a question though. I have about two inches done and it is curling up really tight. Does that mean I am using too small a hook or is it just normal?
You are my hero! None of my books or referances showed me as clearly as you did how exactly to do this stitch! Now I'm happily off to make a present for a friend!
This is the best instuctions I found. Good details on where , why and how. I have learned from vidio. After several tries my work is now smooth and neat following her.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been watching videos all day to learn this method of crochet, and have been so confused, until I found yours. You are a wonderful teacher! Now I'm off to find a tunisian crochet hook, and can't wait to get started. Many thanks, and please keep the videos coming!!!
Why Tunisian? It looks fairly simple, as I have been knitting and crocheting most of my life. Is this faster than traditional crochet? It this method done just for the texture? I don't see many patterns for Tunisian, so I'm just wondering.
That's really clear and fun. However, the sizing for metric is milliMeters, not milliLiters....hehe. Liters are a volume measurement, like ounces and quarts, whilst Meters is a length/width linear measure. Milli means 1/1000 th.
@mugginsquilts That's really embarrassing. I made this video 2 years ago and I had to re-listen to that section. At first I thought I just mumbled the word, but I rewound and, sure enough, I said ML instead of MM. I know difference between the two but I guess I experienced a brain fart. That's what I get, though, for doing 5-6 videos in the same day. Oops! Thanks. :)
THIS IS MY FIRST TRY AND AFTER THIS VIDEO I FELT CONFIDENT TO GO ON AND LEARN MORE! tHANKS A MILLION! GREAT GREAT VIDEO! VERY EASY TO FOLLOW GOT IT ON THE FIRST TRY OR TWO. KEEP THEM COMING.
I have a question about the final pass... Is there a specific way to finish off your work? If I just stop and bind off, my edge will have rather big holes between the stitches... Btw, I'm completely new to tunisian crochet. I've only made one bracelet with it ^_^
Thank you so much! I just learned about Tunisian crochet, but I've never tried it and none of my go-to crochet gals know the technique. Your instructions are wonderful - clear and concise. Again, thanks!
Thank you for your clear instructions. I signed up for T-crochet class not realizing I should know how to crochet first. The teacher went a bit fast, but your video helped understand what to do. Can't learn from looking at copied instructions. Still need to lear how to keep all the stitches and not dropping them.
Thanks so much for these videos! After trying to learn from a book, I now realized that I have been doing some things wrong, particularly pulling up my loop behind the entire vertical post instead of just behind the front vertical loop. Now I can do my TSS and my Tunisian purl correctly! Thanks!
Do you think you could do a video on the various hooks out there? The only one I have been able to find is a ten inch Red Heart, and I am finding it very heavy. I did a search on eBay and found all sorts of hooks including bamboo. What is your opinion of the different types?
Wow!!! Thank you, I've been crocheting for 14 years (I'm 21) and I've never tried the Tunisian. My grandmother left me some Tunisian hooks - I will be trying them out now! Thank you so much. If you get time do you think you could do a tutorial on how to start a full afghan using this method?
WOW never heard of this before :) looks simple and nice :) Wonder if I could use Plarn??? Thanks so much... :)

maybe you could have closed the window so that we wouldn't have to hear the traffic and construction noises.

I am a knitter and sometime-crocheter, and am wondering if this afghan stitch would make a nice, fast baby bib? WDYT?

very clear instructions, thank you
now I understand why I ended up with parallelogram rather then a rectangle -
I think that I started every reverse row pulling yarn through the first two stitches instead of just one

Will try to make a scarf, do You know how to mix multiple colors. One row could be green, another yellow....

@FrdrikTh Your best option would be to pick up a new color when you start a new forward pass. Hope that helps.
