HRMMM... NIRVANA NUMBER ONE ....... FUCK YOU DIE .... I KNEW IT, THE BEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO DAVID GHROL WAS THAT PIECE OF NO TALENT SHIT FUCK KILLING HIMSELF.....
@MrSandpaperSally LOL the only reason anyone gives a fuck about the Foo Faghters is because he was all that was left of Kurt. And his band sucks dick. They will never reat Nirvana status you stupid cunt. And no one will ever be able to out rank Cobain on how influential he was. He's the fucking Elvis of rock in general.
As far as Limp Bizkit being included on any best of list whatsoever... no. Just no. They are one of the most annoying bands in history. Fred Durst writes lyrics as if he were the Incredible Hulk on Viagra. And his vocals are whiney and terrible. Is it because they are a "rap rock" band. No. That has nothing to do with it. RATM is what "rap rock" should be. Durst is talentless. I don't care about the rest of the band because Durst kills it all with his idiotic wigger posturing.
Sigh. How completely typical. Nirvana? Number 1? Probably one of the most overrated rock bands. Are they terrible? No. But do they deserve to be hailed as rock gods? HELL no. Granted, they were PART of the group of bands that put an end to the idiotic hair metal bands of the 80's, but they were BY FAR NOT the most talented. Popularity does not equal talent. If it did, then the likes of Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Lil Wayne, 'Nsync would be some of the most talented groups/singers in the world
@EonScattersoul I'm pretty sure most people who understand the intricacies and history of rock will tell you that Nirvana is one of the most influential bands of all time. you're right. Popularity does not equal talent. They made 3 albums when nobody knew them before everyone knew them with Nevermind. They are on every reputable list of top 100 bands of all time, usually within the top 45, and are voted on by legends in the industry including Bob Dylan, Paul Mccartney, etc...
(continued) New Kids On The Block was left over 80's stuff and didn't define the bulk of the 90's either. Also, neon clothes was a late 80's thing too that carried only into the very early 90's. By 1992/1993 it was out of style. Neon clothes didn't define the 90's.
I say all this because some people either remember the 90's wrong or they are too young to remember the 90's and assume it was something it really wasn't
Some kids today think the 90's are what they see on Saved By The Bell. That was left over 80's stuff that carried into the very early 90's. Saved By The Bell The College Years shows a more accurate description of 90's fashion than the high school episodes. My So Called Life is an example of 90's teen fashion. (Except I didn't know anyone who dressed like the gay guy.) MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice didn't define the 90's either. They defined 1990. That's about it. 1990 was like the late 80's still.
Eric Clapton was the seventies wasn't he? Metallica was great in the 80s... Extreme... ? Yeah, dude can play that guitar... but he still sounds like a poser.... (90's word) But good choices... Blind melon
@ToxicityGuitar Nahh I think they're awful :D It's my opinion though.... I can say what I want thank you very much. I was expressing my opinion exactly the same as you were :D
@Fenvox79 why? because it's rap with metal riffs? Fred Durst is maybe an asshole but you can't say it's a bad band: Wes Borland is known for his genius guitar riffs, Rivers makes great basslines, Otto has always been a fuckin' good drummer and Durst is simply a good singer makin' some of their songs unique. that's all.
@ToxicityGuitar Durst is a redneck twit. The rest of the band......meh. I mean what have they done thats so ground breaking?
If you relate to songs about breaking shit, then so be it. Thats an anthem for the fucking jock-tools of the world. Them and their brother band Stain'd.
btw, its hard to understand a fellow Nirvana fan liking such shite.
@Fenvox79 My Way, Break Stuff, Take A Look Around, Rollin', Lean On Me, Nookie, Counterfeit, Boiler, Re-arranged + the new album are just awesome. And i am very opened to all kind of rock music (metal, grunge, thrash metal, heavy, nu metal, alterntive metal, punk rock, punk,...) so it's normal that i like LB and Nirvana they're awesome.
@ToxicityGuitar I don't doubt that those bands are successful and great. I like a few of their songs myself, but those bands put too much emphasis on the whole shock value thing, especially Manson more than any of them and a lot of Slipknot. I really think a lot of the reason they sell a lot of records is because of their presentation and shock value stuff. A lot of the artists on here are 100% music. Very melodic with clear, genius chorus's and verses.
@ToxicityGuitar Only the Offspring of your list deserves a mention. I'm huge SoaD and LB fan but those aren't rock bands. Except The Offspring, those are all metal bands.
@Chineserijstwafel okay but where's the limit between "rock" and "metal" as you say ? to me rock is basically a band with a bass player, a (or two) guitarist, a drummer and a singer.
@ToxicityGuitar It's more about how it sounds. Metal sounds more heavy and also includes the casual grunt/rough screams into their songs. You should also consider what the songs are about. Most rocksongs have more 'gentle' lyrics then Slipknot's Wait and Bleed or Psychosocial.
Won't you come And wash away the rain Black hole sun It's something unpredictable but in the end It's right I hope you've had the time of your life and after all, you´re my wonderwall would you hold my hand, if i saw you in heaven And I don't ever want to feel Like I did that day Take me to the place I love, take me when i was young don't know just where our bones will rest To dust I guess t's hard to hold a candle In the cold november rain What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here.
And it rips my life away, but it's a great escape Soy un perdedor I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me? you want it all but you can't have it my life to better suit your mood Cause you're so smooth it's a bittersweet symphony, this life When I drive myself my light is found Whatever tomorrow brings I'll Exit, light, Enter, night Take my hand, Black hole sun Won't you come And wash away the rain Black hole sun
More than words to show you feel That your love for me is real lightning crashes, an old mother dies in your head zombie, zombie Mr. Jones and me stumbling through the barrio Yeah we stare at the beautiful women Living on a edge now you do what they told you You can have my isolation You can have the hate that it brings i'm the man in the box feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again And I feel it Where are you going for tomorrow?
Smart choice, to include so many ballads. Otherwise, with nothing but rockers sung by bellowing baritones, it would have sounded like one long expectoration. Nice job, even though this is not really my era.
You are an amazing person for making this video. I didnt know most of the names of the songs i loved all this time and hadnt hurdvthem in years, brings me rite back to when i was a kid... dam i miss them days. Thank you so much.
@RusPrideAK RADIOHEAD are waaaay better than nirvana, and Thom Yorke is not dead ¬¬ British bands are the best: RADIOHEAD, OASIS, PORTISHEAD, MASSIVE ATTACK, FAITHLESS, PULP, BLUR, and a loooong etc.
@Malombado totally agree mate, so bloody bored, for me is Paranoid Android or Don't Look Back In Anger (OASIS), maybe Teardrop (Massive Attack) or Roads (Portishead).
@RusPrideAK "these are your damn opinion"??? "what the is teardrop"??? really??? научиться писать на английском языке идиот ... и если я использую Google переводчик, чтобы рассказать вам, как вы глупы...I don't fuckin' care if EVERYONE knows nirvana, that doesn't make them the best band in the world, as I told you before, is a matter of taste you arsehole!!!
Four songs that should've made this list, but didn't: "Superman's Dead by Our Lady Peace, "Everything You Want by Vertical Horizon, "If You Could Only See" by Tonic, "I Alone" by Live
@WHiTeNoiSe317 they did have lightnig crashing which was waaaay better than i alone but htey needed some bush in there man! glycerine, machine head, little things, EVERYTHING ZEN
@Reverse36 Because many of the other 30 on the list came in the wake of the genre of music Nirvana opened to North America (some obvious exceptions). They actually changed the course of mainstream music while many of the others were just a part of the ride. It used to be that all lists ended in Madonna...This is much better.
@MrAndrewkowalchuk Nirvana didn't start the grunge scene, sorry to break it to you. Its ok, I forgive you. Soundgarden and Pearl Jam were even before Nirvana. As for this 30 "best" they skipped alot and put some garbage up there. I love Nirvana, third favorite band, but they aren't number one, and damn sure isn't Smells Like Teen Spirit as number one, way better songs from them, but god damn that song is fun to jam too.
This didn't gel well with my tastes. 1979 is the one pumpkins song? Because it got the most airplay? It's far from thier best song. The Smashing Pumpkins had the best rock drummer of the 90's hands down, and that's the one song they have where the beat never changes. Chamberlin made the pumpkins sound. Quiet, Cherub Rock, Tonight, Tonight, Bullet with Butterfly Wings, Zero. Any of those are better than 1979.

why does every list always end up with nirvana as number 1?
Reverse36 2 months ago
