  • Jay,You said it best.

  • Tony has a voice like no other even to the present at 85! Perfect phrasing as he makes the lyrics come to life. What seems impossible for anyone except opera singers is to watch Tony singing "Fly me to the moon" with just a guitar and no amplification. He can be heard in the balcony of the Academy of Music in Philly and at Radio City Music Hall.

  • que linda cancion es muy triste

  • This version doesnt suck compared to the Andy Williams singing it, it is just different. In my opinion Mr. Bennett adds more drama, making it more personal perhaps. Men like Mr. Bennett are close to extinct unfortunately. The older generation had true men, we have justin bieber.enough said.

  • Lovely............. He is the Best .

  • None has sung this song like Bendetto did, ever.

  • people.. r u kidding me? this man is a musical icon. i saw him a few years ago, and his voice is more powerful , stronger and on key than ever. you have no idea what this man has brought to history.

  • This version sucks balls!

    Andy FTW.

  • for Tori~ my angel...the piano player last night @ dal rae was great !she & I were talking about all the rat-pack songs, i told her this one fits my feelings for my child VICTORIA ~ perfectly...

  • Always loved Antonio Di Bennedetto and always will

  • @lukasnummer1 just tell to your tony, can he make his version bigger hit than andy's, then your tony can change the history which have been written, if it works I'll give my LITTLE respect to your tony, show me the fact

  • Tony Bennett is part of dying breed and is among the last of the legendary crooners. We still have Andy Williams and Tony Bennett, but gone are Frank, Dean, and Sammy, Mel Torme.

  • @ajb1776 I would put Ray Price in that group as well. "For the Good Times"

  • i can play this on my guitar

  • Hermosa y sentida canción ...... siempre le encantó .... gran Tony B.

  • Andy or Tony, who cares ?They are still in the business ´, friends and both great!!!!

  • makes me want to cry pure genius ,sinatra is a god and mr bennett one of his angels

  • Splendida versione di un inno dedicato all'amore.

    Grazie

    Sal

  • Great stuff, tony

  • Tony had an excellent voice back then (not anymore), but on this song, he can't hold a candle to Andy Williams' version.

  • I just saw TB and he still has it ! Obviously not as he was 30 yrs ago. Andy Williams is real good but come on... not in the same breath. You have top 1% and then the others.

  • Well Sin Sisamouth is a real master. He could sing like many sound and his relic is the most beautiful on earth!!

Sin Siamouth's voice is better than all !!!!

  • @infinera06 actually, his voice is STILL amazing, thats the interesting thing about him. i saw him in concert last year (age 83?) and he STILL sounds just like his records. it's incredible to see him perform live.

  • Dorothy Squires version was so filled with emotion because she sang it with her infatuation and rejection of Roger Moore.

But for me Tony bennet will always be The singer. irrespective of what he sings its always with authenticity.

i don't believe he ever sang for commercial reasons just for the love of the lyrics and the harmonies.

  • who sings it originally?

does it have an italian version?

  • andy williams

  • one of the best versions I've ever heard-but the best ever is the one by Dorothy Squires.Sadly not to find on youtube.

  • Whew, I just can't make my mind up who I think sings this better: Tony Bennett or Andy Williams. But who says I can't adore both. Andy is a little richer sounding, maybe.

  • You can check out both of them singing together "City Medley" on the Andy Williams show. They never sounded better, and, "Whew, I just can't make my mind up" as to who's better!

  • Edwin2029, I looked that up and boy they both were great. Why can't music be like this now-- sigh.

As far as this song, I think the music behind Andy's version was better (the orchestra) but otherwise, I just love 'em both!

  • He has the phrasing now in 2009 - but not (for obvious reasons) the breath control that he did when he recorded this in the very early seventies.......this is truly magnificant singing - Bennett at his peak

  • Hello, 170672346,

Of course, he doesn't have the breath control he had when he was young - nobody does ! But his great style remains - wouldn't you agree ?

  • Hello to you Leafarvic. His style is different now, as I said, for obvious reasons. Seen him many times over the last 30 plus years in the UK and met him once. He is a fine artist and I'm pleased he is still singing.

  • great feeling when singing tis song...

    makes me cry...

    snnff..

  • Uma voz maravilhosa.

  • One of the most romantic and beautiful songs I have ever heard.

The voice of Tony Bennett is amazing.

    All my starts for you.

I added to my list of favourites.

  • This is exactly how it should be. Superb phrasing, brilliant timing, fabulously sung. The one and very only Tony Bennet. My all time favourite. Many thanks T, for all the fabulous memories you have shared with me.

You can keep the pretenders. Bennet rules everytime

  • I absolutely agree with you! IMo Tony is the greatest singer of his era!

  • one of the best song ever and tony bennett version is the best

  • yes, i agree, the best vocal version of this song.

  • awesome rendition Antonius, Mr Bennitto still has the pipes, excuse the spelling but I love Tony Bennett!

  • i agree with you
