The ignorance of the media - and the general population at large - astonishes me. Of course, no one knows Latin anymore anyway, so they don't know that "pagan" means country dweller, and was an insult to those who still held the old beliefs after the Christian takeover by Constantine (may God and Goddess burn his name eternally). It holds as many bad connotations as the word witch does. But I like it; sort of rolls off the tongue.
