Your Book was the best I have ever read. I was a Marine and in Vietnam. It was remarkable how much the Marine Corps and the attitude and interaction is just the same as it was 40 years ago. Every American should read this book
Joker One, God bless you and thank you for all you have done. Thank you, in a special way, to Campbell, who has helped me to become a stronger leader, as well as a better man.
Thank you to all the Men and Women serving our country.... I love my soldier Gardner... thank you too you too baby. I can't wait till you come home :)
I have read Joker One so many times now, i have cried and i have smiled during the book. And i never get tired of reading it. The book made me realize that i want to go into the army to defend my country. Thank you :)
May I respectfully suggest you read the book before saying things like that. I have, and this man deserves no such criticism. Not by a thousand miles.

I just heard his interview with Steve Paulson from Wisconsin Public Radio. One thing that I found appalling was when he said that he did not know how to say "I am sorry" in Arabic...Three tours in an Arabic Country, a commander and so ignorant? Wow how are we going to win a war with people like that ?
if your not gona support us please step in front of us. I am a 2/4 Marine whos done two combat deployments I don't know how to say much in arabic other than what was taught to us. Our job wasn't to win hearts and minds it was to keep ramadi and haditha insurgent free. We are Warriors not social workers
This is a great book and gives a good first hand view of Iraq. It does not get dull or boring and keeps you interested throughout the entire thing. I would even say it is better than Nathaniel Flick's 'One Bullet Away' about his time in the USMC, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Joker One's first fire team leader, first squad, a twenty-one-year-old native of the backwoods of Tennessee. The platoon's best shot and one of its most skilled Marines.
@Kepachodude yeah cus Im proud of him being my uncle... If you want to know more about him just ask me. His parents are Linda and dewy teague. He was raised in Between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Tn. He is very close family, lived with them for a few years.
I just read Joker one. Donovan Campbell is one heck of a guy. He is selfless, honorable, compassionate, and ethical. I admire his honesty. He put the limelight on his men, not to himself. He makes me proud to be an american.. an american who represents our ideals and compassion, and respect for mankind.
I haven't had the chance to read the book yet, but I heard an interview that Campbell did with Bill Bennett. From what I heard I can tell that Donovan and his men are all great Americans. Thank you to all the brave men and women that make up the American armed forces. You are the reason this country is free and great.
This was the best book i ever read and thank god to all the soliders over sea and for everyone one from joker one hooah
