the Playstation version is essentially a half way house between the PC and GBA versions in terms of the graphics, tracks and music. The PC version is still my favourite though.

It has V-rally phs. or it is VERY similiar.. Btw. in all my years spent playing this game I never had a moment where another driver crashed, as seen with Shock on 0:57.. Very nice, sure does bring good old times together

@2007excalibur2007 Oh, I thought you'd say the stuttering framerate. To be honest, this was one of the last videos I made with my old Dazzle recorder, and it was on its way out at the time. You might hear the audio make a "popping" sound every now and then. It drove me nuts, so I ended up getting another Dazzle and upgraded my Pinnacle Studio suite.
I played a demo version of the PC version before I played the PS version, but that was a long time ago. The one I grew up with was the PS version. Collision wasn't great. I think the graphics are better than NFS3, but maybe a pinch worse than NFS4 (but still, really impressive for a Playstation). I recently got into the PC version. It's better made, but a lot harder to play. Far more "sim". Not that I dislike that. I grew up with GT2 haha.

@NailStrafer - You know what, I generally prefer consoles as well; but trust me. The PC version is hugely better than this. Not by a little bit, by a lot. This is the first time I've seen this version in action and right away I can tell you this version is missing that sense of realism and immersion. The sounds are awful, and something tells me it's missing many of the features the PC version had. And you can't run a decent wheel, or any wheel that I know of. There's just no contest.

Ah... But have you even played Hot Pursuit or High Stakes on the Playstation? Their graphics, especially High Stakes were way better than this crap. But Porsche Unleashed on Ps1, I saw bad reviews, wondered why, and I can kind of get just ... a glimpse of it just by watching a clip. The pc version on the other hand, is a great game.
Yeah, I've played them. I owned both till 3 was stolen. I still think the graphics here are about on par with what you'd get in NFS3 and 4. The draw distance is shorter, but on the other hand the framerate is much better.
In any case, the graphics were never the reason I liked this game. It was the Evolution Mode, where you literally race through 50 years of history. I have never seen any other racing game do anything like it, and that's why this title stands out for me over 3 and 4.

Who says different ports of the same game have to be exactly the same? And you know what? If you did a google search for "Porsche Unleashed Playstation" you'd get confirmation pretty quick that this is an official game.
Hmm... then they must have developed two different games and named them the same. I wish they'd do that nowadays instead of just porting console games over to PC... they turn out much worse.
