@cbucks2869 I'm pretty sure most of us with any kind of bass setups are using headunits with USB and/or iPod input these days instead of CDs.

@chaksq I have an ipod but dont use it because no matter what headunit I have used or anyone I have seen the ipod just is not as loud as an mp3 cd or a real cd but when u have 48 subs i guess it doesnt matter

@cbucks2869 depends on how you connect it, if your headphone has iPod control and a cable for the iPod then the sound quality is better. Something like a 3.5mm jack or FM transmitter then the sound quality is lesser. My headunit can actually read and play MP3 files off a USB thumbdrive, which I what I generally use for my setup.
