@davidbenjamink It's pronunciation almost controversial here LOL. Pretty much all farmers in California's San Joaquin Valley pronounce it without the "L." I remember looking it up while in high school and discovered both ways were considered correct. Either way, they taste great!
@dangchristine Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. That is a great question. Probably for a many reasons including little is taught about the science of food production any more, there are far fewer farmers now than in the past, and no matter how health-conscious the public is they always act more price-conscious. We hope to share as much information as possible how our fruits and nuts are grown. Enjoy!
Thanks for the education... I just moved to Cali and next door is acres of Almond trees. I seen the harvest, but curious as to how it was done. What I don't understand is that they had uprooted alot of acres of Amond trees. Is there a lifespan to the trees?
Great commentary Michael. We are using this in my 6th grade class to pair with the Extensions Time Out for Tasting of almonds. Thanks for this video. Now my city kids amid the country (Fresno) will understand how the almonds end up in the bag.
WOW! I love Almonds or Amonds? anyway Micheal what an amazing process and worth it to keep eating those nuts that are so good for us, thank you for sharing it was really interesting.
I live in NYC and out here, we call them ALmonds....... not Amonds. Regardless, great education on the process!
