The neck takes a bit of time but the neck is usually relic'd own its own of use, i reccomend lighlty removing the finish on the fretboard and just play it for a while
first, make sure that all the finish and sealer is off of the guitar neck, or at least the finger board. Once that's done stain the neck with black dye where the dirty finger wear mark should be. Then buff it with 0000 steel wool to blend the colors. Then stain the remaining finger board. As for the headstock , use a rasp to randomly nick the edges, especially around the "ball end" of the headstock. I hope this helps and good luck!
hey, thanks for the compliments. This guitar felt and played as well as it sounded. The tune was "Going down slow" which is off the pilgrim album. The live versions were killer, the studio version not so much :)
Hey, ..What is the tune you play at the start of the video? Good demo, I've tried for awhile to duplicate the sound the Blackie Tribute has, with a lot of different pickups, but unless someone plays it, they won't understand the tone.....keep on strummin'
If only I could play like EC! Eventhough some say he "lost the fire" from when he was in his 20's, he plays with so much taste and finesse today (and still kicks ass when he wants to). My blues deluxe is a great amp, but doesn't have much gain at all. I think my "10" is equivalent to your 3 or 4. At bedroom volume the bass response is excellent. The first time I plugged it in and hit the low E string I literally looked around to see if there was a bass player in the room!
This video has been up for six months and you're the first person to recognize the Little Girl solo. :) I know it should be done on a les paul or a 335 at least, but it took me a little while to learn the solo so I just wanted to slip it in there!
yeah, i love the solo too. its genius. from the beginning to the end. dont you also wish to play like clapton? hes a fuckin badass :( :D
btw. youre playing a blues deluxe. im playin a hot rod deluxe. my hot rod has some asskickin ( i should better say headshootin :P ) treble and is way too loud for my little room. whats about the blues deluxe?
I said it's made with american parts, but I clearly state the neck is MIJ. I'm sure it's misleading for people who just read the title of auctions and buy blindly. But for the rest of us it's called full disclosure.
you would be surprised how many idiots there are who click before reading. I wasn't criticizing or anything, just pointing out in case some moron buys before reading and tries to make a case out of it. had that happen once. I won.
What kind of pickups did you end up using on this guitar??? Thanks! - Billy

I would never buy a signature guitar but like help yourself find your own sound you know...not another person's.

@cheezbeenzriz
completely agree. each one of those scratches and nicks probably mean something to Clapton. but to another person mean nothing
