  • I always imagined this is how Andy was behind the scenes.

  • "Mr. Wallace said not to run no shine...."

  • I've seen this movie at least 5 times. It ran twice on CBS. WGN bleeped out the n word. I also have the VHS. I even read the book. Wallace Turner was actually his brother William. He took Wallace's 4-F card after going AWOL from the Army. Wallace was a half-wit. The real John Wallace looked nothing like Andy Griffith.

  • Great movie! Johnny Cash is wonderful, as is June Carter Cash. It's hard to picture Andy Griffith as a bad guy, but you quickly learn to hate him in this movie!!!!!

  • Ironically enough, character actors Dan Biggers, Stuart Culpepper, Wallace Merck, and Wilbur Fitzgerald would all appear as recurring characters in the early 90's on In The Heat of The Night. I know that at least three of them appeared in an episode together.

  • I've been looking for this for year's thank you for your time to upload:)

  • I live in the area where this movie took place. One of my friends is actually John Wallace's great-niece, and my old science teacher went to school with Sheriff Potts' daughter.

  • Been searching high and low for this - thanks for the upload Crepe =]

  • This is a Great movie. I wish it was on NETFLIX

  • great having johnny cash and andy griffith in the same movie

  • you know that there is still a John Wallice road in Meriwether county? that shows his true power in that area

  • theres also a sheriffs office in coweta county that shows the power of lamar potts.

  • @BlueDevilPride11991 yep sure is not allot changes in meriwether its a nice peaceful county, ive been down that road, its beautiful countryside. its not to far away from me i live just over the line in troup county

  • Thanks for posting this movie. Now if someone would post the miniseries Chiefs.

  • Griffith was always fantastic playing pricks. I wish some of his mid 70's work was released, he played the baddie better than anyone.

  • Andy Grittith plays a real jerk in this movie.but that is what he is ment 2 do.and Johnny Cash is at his best in this movie.I LOVE THIS MOVIE.

  • @SkyAngel1959 Andy Griffith's first film role (and his best dramatic performance) was as the total jerk "Lonesome" Rhodes in A FACE IN THE CROWD (1957).

  • Can't thank you enough for posting this 47!
