The reason I say you probably need a set up is because when you play with a capo it sounds so much better. That is a tell tale sign usually. With a good set up I can make a crappy Squire acoustic compare with ANY GUITAR that isn't set up properly. WORD OF CAUTION!!! DON'T TRY TO ADJUST THE TRUSS ROD (NECK) BY YOUR SELF!!! You could seriously fudge up your guitar. There is way more to a set up than that and special tools to do the job. Truss rod should be a tiny adjustment.
