What headset are you using? Being a bit of an audiophile (who knows nothing about mics), I'm currently looking around for a good balance of sound and voice quality, and whatever you're using certainly has the quality.

I guess there's a number of people that have mentioned that. Though originally it was simply music made in Milky Tracker. It was then converted into music played on a keygen.

But regardless, I don't do updates like this anymore so it doesn't really matter.

Generally yes or your recording software won't have it as an option.

Then you might not be able to record your game sounds.

you might want to right click on the Realtek HD audio manager (which is the orange mini speaker on the task bar) and then select audio devices. In the second tab of "recording" there will be the stereo mix there. Just right click it and select "enable" and you also have to have "show disabled devices" enabled.

Actually I still haven't found it out. But what I do now to record my voice in games is I just use fraps, then click ALT+tab to start the 'sound recorder' in vista.. then later in WMM I drag the recording onto the vid (but then i still need to align/sync it :S)

i finally figure how to record game sound and microphone sound while recording with fraps , thanks to your video it helped me a bit , but it lacked some of usefull information in it.

I have realtek HD audio manager too...

In Fraps you need to set your sound recording to use windows input , instead of detect best sound input.

In sound device it will be Vista and sound input it will be microphone.

In Sound option in control panel you need to set it on Sound mix as default recording

and then in your Realtek HD audio manager or Other application for your sound .. you need to increase the playback volume of your microphone to 100%

it's the only way i could get it to record game sound and voice sound same time ;)

It's hard to adjust to. I have to relearn how to record and publish footage. All my splash screens are outdated. It's a bit more difficult to ensure quality. And there's always that extra effort of putting the HD link in the description.

All those things add to my time making each video. But the end result is pretty sweet. I just hope I get as fast soon with this level of quality as I did with the standard HQ.
