@sunRsaturn Because there is a history of Israel receiving free crude from Iran through the Ashkelon pipeline prior to the Islamic revolution of 1979. Even the Shah wrote in his memoirs that this relic agreement with the Anglo-Iranian oil-company bothered him a great deal.

Israel did however continue to receive crude and gas deliveries, during the Iran-Iraq war. Shipments to the "Tipline" eventually ceased as Iran and Israel once more reaffirmed the cut of all diplomatic ties.
