  • He is grounded on CS Lewis? I should hope not, for lewis' command as regards doubting thoughts ie SHOVE THEM BACK, is highly dangerous, is legalist striving in the flesh and is thus forsaking christ to be perfected in the flesh.

strictly speaking this book is not mere christianity (for itmakes no mention of justification by faith ALONE) it is Mere Moralistic Theism.

AS regards the theism it is good, as regards the moralism it is heresy

  • @Strefanash Interesting insight into Lewis, I haven't read his stuff for a while, but I kind of see where you're coming from.

My thinking was always that it is the struggle of representing the idea of sola fide, whilst maintaining the compulsion for morality. We aren't saved by morality, and yet James talks of faith without works being dead; Jesus never hinted that amorality is acceptable.

It's an interesting line to navigate: morality isn't key, but it's important. (Like reading the Bible.)
