Bruson is, of course, amazing. As with all truly great singers, what he could always do well, he still does well at 70. The line, leagto and way with the language are incomparable, and do not exist on this level among singers 30 years younger. Fleming does what she can, but this is Verdi Light. Quite nice actually, but not really great. She would probably sound somewhat better as Violetta Valery if the Germont were Thomas Hampson, but in this company - well, it's a bit embarasssing, isn't it?

Bravo Bruson. Not bad for 70. Is it me or does Fleming sing very much in her head? Bruson sings with much more appoggio, which is why his voice sounds more present than hers.

This is mesmorizing. Her voice makes me melt and i feel that she's very "dramatically efficient." What more could you want from a Violetta?

... but I have heard Bruson in this part some months ago in Avenches (open air), and it was , actually, really not good anymore. Perhaps a bad evening? But I felt like the acute is somehow damaged, and he has to enormously cover and push the notes to get it... He is a very great singer, though. Unforgettable.

Many times. They are together for instance in Riccardo Muti's Traviata studio recording for EMI (1981) in which Alfredo is Maestro Kraus

Tengo la excelente grabacion de Renato Bruson en el papel de Giorgio Germont efectuada hace 20 años con Lucia Aliberti como Violeta Valery. Ambos junto a Peter Dvorsky dirigidos por Roberto Paternostro conduciendo la Orquesta Filarmonica de Tokyo.El paso del tiempo no ha dominado al magnifico Bruson que se crece con el tiempo.
