  • Not enough Current.....

  • The 2 top rated comment said 2 things differently, 1 said DC and 1 said AC.

  • @Ipang69 its ture, you don't have to be correct to be popular.

  • Thumbs up if you saw the Miata in the very beginning

  • @Dacel88 and by lowering your voltage you can up your amperage :)

  • if you are jumpstarting a car it is better to clamp plus+ to + on battery and negative - on car body it is less likely for the battery to explode

  • I rather dought the difibulater killed the starter , but it probbly kiiled all the electronics in the car like the ECU and on many cars the ECU controls the starter and the relays that click might not be controled by the ECU itself , if the car had a key with a chip and the ECU was damaged the car wont start

  • Anyone else hear low-frequency humming around 1:13?

  • kodiak and happy disco, quit acting like your shoe size LOL jk but seriously, I know you guys have better things to do then to let a small comment take time out of your life to think of an insult for one another, like Jackie Moon's motto E.L.E. (Everybody Loves Everybody) or at least tolerate them and go on lol

  • amazing how many "Google University" morons there are around here... The Mythbusters crew has some real experts. get back to smelling your own farts all day

  • Simple the pulse was too short (among other things), to start your car engine you wold need it to spin 2-3 times (2-3 cylinders to go through work stroke), which usually takes about 1-3 seconds, this impulse was only miliseconds long, even if there was proper amperage, the car would not start because the electric pulse is too short

  • you can here the starter click. It takes a few full revolutions to start a car...it only "zaps" for a few seconds

  • Ok, technical break... A defibulator discharges AC voltage, your car requires DC voltage. Second, all the volts in the world will not start the car if you dan't have the cranking amps to turn the starter. Exposing a human body to several hundred amps would kill you.

  • Ok, technical break...A difibrilator discharges a pulse of DC high voltage, wich is enough to get the needed amps(ohm's law)

but the pulse is likely too short(1/100th second)

and all the amps in the world will not kill you unless you have enough voltage to

    1overcome skin resistance

2let the amps pass through(ohm's law again)

IF you have enough volts exposing a human body to several hunderd amps will kill you, but by exploding you.

0.006 amps through the heart is lethal

  • @alwinovich you as well

  • @HappyDiscoDeath well would you mind telling me what is so wrong about my statement that you have to insult me over it 1 year later?

  • @alwinovich Is there a law against replying to year-old comments? you fucking trolls should be kicked off for good... anyone points out the flaws in your rant, and you respond by all-out ripping on the person who pointed them out... simply brilliant, douchebag.

  • @HappyDiscoDeath my point wasn't that you replied to a 1 year old comment

i just asked what was so incorrect that you had to make a immature insult about it

  • @alwinovich once a troll, always a troll

  • @HappyDiscoDeath oh and i just re-read the previous comment

what is this "all out ripping" you talk about?

    i mean, against who?

  • @alwinovich My bad.

  • @alwinovich I depend on how many volts and how many amps you get :) i got 1amp 12v trough my hand and it tickled :)

  • @TheEsseboy

i doubt that. you need approx. 45 volts to overcome (dry )skin resistance

and even if you used a conductor(water+electrolyte) and put an A meter in parrallel, i bet it doesn't read 1 Amp

first, your internal resistance through your finger is way over 12 ohm, so 1A is impossible

second, more then about 2 miliamps will NOT tickle, it will hurt like hell and you'll lose muscle control

  • @alwinovich it depens on the voltage :) 12v 10mA is no big deal :)

  • @TheEsseboy that's just about my point...

it wont break the skin and wont have enough V to push the A through your body

the 10ma on the other hand ARE dangerous

  • @alwinovich So you say if i stick a 9v battery to my toung I would die? because it got 150mA?? and i feel it in my toung :) Give up dude its de amount of energy (Volts times Amps) that counts :) I can stick my toung to 1x1500mA 1,5v battery (used wires of course) and it tickeld :D

  • @TheEsseboy

no, that's not what i said

i said you need the V to push the A through your body that and into the nerves

if you would understand ohm's law you would get that neither 1 or 9 volts is enough to push more then just a few mA through wet skin(tongue)

as you say its volt times amps that's dangerous, but our body has too much resistance to conduct amps if there's a lack of volt

also the tongue is a faulty example because it short-circuits the battery, it never comes near vital parts

  • @alwinovich It's 0.003 amps and above is lethal, Also you don't need voltage to kill you, Voltage = ammount, Amps = Strength. So no matter if it's 12 volt, 24 volts, or 240 volt. you get 0.003 amp trough you, yer dead.

  • @alwinovich @alwinovich It's 0.003 amps and above is lethal, Also you don't need voltage to kill you, Voltage = ammount, Amps = Strength. So no matter if it's 12 volt, 24 volts, or 240 volt. you get 0.003 amp trough your heart, you might die.

  • @kodiak410a these guys are really smart i think

  • @kodiak410a

They look at things with such a "let's try it" way. Not even a nod to V=IR.

  • @kodiak410a you're more of a buzzkill than Buzz Killington

  • @HappyDiscoDeath Well, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one. I will take that in to account the next time I am at my desk working my 6-figure per year job.

  • @kodiak410a yup. so is Trolling a hobby? do you waste time at your desk job looking for comments to rip on? go back home to your mom's basement to rip on random comments, douchebag.

  • @HappyDiscoDeath What can I say, I am very proficient at my job. Somedays I have a lot of spare time, somedays not so much.My clients are happy and we all make money. As far as trolling as a hobby, I do enjoy fishing sometimes when I travel. Going to China next month to meet some perspective clients. My company (Honeywell Industries LTD) specilizes on various types of controls.

  • Without the battery connected you could probably jump start just the battery itself with enough juice to start the car, but that's only if the battery hasn't been dead for very long. But I wouldn't recommend it...

  • oh the irony...something that saves lives everyday also kills cars...
