actually there has been rumors about a 4th npc race only allowed in the campaign. And i dont even think you are able to play as them.

Yes, you play as them, but in the campaign. They also said that you can create new races in the sc editor. You can also make it so you can select the custom races in the game room, on bnet. Thats awesome.
