  • Yeah Charlie! Charlie Lagonds runs the music school I go to. What a hoss.

  • Ohhh god, who said drugs were bad, no cocaine...no Kid Creole!!!

  • OMG-I love this band.

  • Good Memories ...

  • Sorry - that should be 7 Sept!

  • There is an interview with him in the G2 section of The Guardian today - Sept.8 - check it online. He is alive and well!

  • This is pretty cool

  • One of the best live shows I ever saw.

  • Went to see KC early 80´s, Lifeboat Party tour, in Hammersmith, London. So entertaining! Went to opening night and had so much fun, went again on closing night! Can remember Lynx, Imagination, Luther Vandross (before he was well known), Al Jarreau, etc. Sigh! Those were the days!!!

  • always did love this song....

  • Genius, he plays everything down. Is he still alive.?????

  • @ronaldvanderkleij August Darnell Browder is very much alive!

  • Washed ashore on B Dilibay's Island, ruled by outcasts where crime's the only passport and race music the the only way out! "Oh Annie I'm not your Daddy"

  • the coconuts wearing these red spanish inspired uniforms spinning like derviches look really surealisticaly good thancks to Adriana

  • The only better live version was on Top of the Pops in early 80s - it used to be posted on YT but it got pulled - it's even snappier. Love this tune !

  • RIP Rich Sweet this was are jam.

  • I must have seen the a dozen times back in the 80s. There was nothing like them. Just thought to check for videos and was SO pleasantly surprised to find this. They are so cool.

  • The Coconuts were choreographed by August's ex-wife. I remember thinking as a 16 year old how smokin' hot their dancing was :-)

  • best live version of Annie ive seen, so far. at 4:09 the Kid lets out a "whoo" and cools his hand, he knows they are cooking on gas.

  • best live version of Annie ive seen, so far.

  • Fantastic!!!!!

  • The gigs in Grugahalle were always great, but this one blew the lid of the place in a whole new way.

  • I saw thier concerts in belguim and as well as in spain..

  • gotta luv a band with brass

  • Kid, Coati the Band & singers music and choreography is outrageously tight! I'm tripping on how the ladies kept in time while spinning in the dark. Man their all sharp as hell.

  • The Kid was in his prime back in the early to mid-80's as painfully obvious from the live shows that are being shown here. Mainstream radio definitely missed The Lifeboat Party on this act. What a shame.

  • this band were soooo hot!..and as with most things non main stream never got the recognition they truly deservered...mind they did themselves no favours getting rid of the origional coco nuts ( "cocoa sluts!!").and loseing thurston binns as main percussion.this just pissed off real fans and alienated thurstans followers even more.

  • Coati, I always loved your percussion.. a tour-de-force of samba and latin beats

    Nice work on Buzzcocks too..

  • I was born in the wrong decade. (1990) lol

  • @BOSOX9004 at least u were born at 90's ...I wish i was not been born..coz my parents were so fucking poor ..

  • music should be fun :)

  • Best version

  • Oh yes, this was fun! Lol!!

  • Kid AKA Tom Browder, went to Hofstra Univ and was good ?? friends with my ex wife. Stories not to be told here. Met them backstage a couple of times in the 80s

Its was a rip. one time Buster Poindexter ( aka David Johansen) opened for them ,,what a show,, it was a PARTY

  • @sailorguyli Dude, you can't show us the cover of the book and not tell at least ONE story. Please, just change the names and dates ; ) ...

  • Hey Mundi, thanks for sharing...what great days these were !!
