Thanks for 2:30ish "it's reversible". I have felt that we should kill anyone who has a "life sentence" that is old enough for life to mean dying in prison simply out of compassion. I don't think anyone innocent or guilty should have to postpone death in such an environment; you give hope a face with your sentiment. Some ppl commit such crimes that they don't deserve to live. Research shows that each executed prisoner saves between 28 to 31 ppl. What he is afraid of killing innocents.

I suggest death penalty when there is absolutely clear the person is guilty. Don't kill them right away; wait a few years to make sure.

Also, terrorists deserve to die, if only for restoring action and consequence relationship. Also their next of kin should get broken legs.

As far as the death penalty goes, I don't think its fair to taxpayers to be required to feed and house these people. Kill someone, get free room and board for the rest of your life? I say, find the amount of time spent in prison that it takes for the liklihood of new evidence being found and the prisoner exonerated to be reduced to less than 1% and then make the cut off right there. This would be somewhere between 5-20 years. The prisoner should be kept for that long, then put to death.

Even in clear cut cases of murder caught on tape, the system is set up to put money into the pockets of the lawyers... who happen to make more than the prisoner would cost to feed/house/guard for the rest of their life... that's an entirely different injustice to the US taxpayer.

I'm simply arguing that "murder == free room and board for life." doesn't seem like a fitting way to deter people from committing murder.
