It could have been A northen soul song. There is a live footage from 1994 of the Mover. You can hear the difference by compare this version of the older one.

i didnt like love is noise THAT much.. sounds a lot like coldplay (and i hate those cheap wanna be like the verve / oasis) but the verve is great, this song is great
