  • the beauty of hk's. Do this test with an hk and it won't malfunction.

  • @808Arsenal All 3 of mine do. USP, USP tactical P2000SK

  • @DallasfuckingTT i guess you better send them to me then. No use owning unreliable guns.

  • @808Arsenal You see how this guy is making it fail though. He's not only limp wristing, he's yanking his hand back.

  • is it usually the heavier the slide the most susceptible to limp wristing

  • Interesting video. I can't think of an injury where this would be necessary, though.

  • I'd like to see someone doing this with a .50 cal Desert Eagle.

  • THIS IS WHY YOU GRIP A GUN TIGHTER THAN YOU GRIP YOUR PENIS. OR YOUR PARTNERS PENIS WHATEVER YOU'RE INTO.

  • @jah2mail you sure do like penis, huh?

  • Well, this solves my question. I have a friend who is always getting malfunctions when he shoots my FNP-45, malfunctions which never happen to me. He's limp wristing.

  • Since the gun itself is not being held more stable the recoil action that loads the next round is decreased. Also the slide might be making contact with another part of his body which could be helping to jam. This is why shoot "gangsta" style is dumb. Guns are not designed for that and it can damage you or the gun. The purpose of this test is to show the over all recoil of the gun.

  • i dont know anything about this test but does it always cause the guns to jam somehow, or do those 2 always jam a shit ton?

  • @bill3ok - Limp-wristing will jam nearly all semi-auto handguns. Its a function of physics. I dont know of any semi-auto handguns that wont jam in this way.

  • @RoninHawk is it because its not being held steady so it moves around or somethin?

  • @bill3ok - pretty much, the action of the gun works off the stability of your grip, facilitating the "equal and opposite reaction." If the gun is allowed to move freely when fired, then the recoil spring does not have the solid backstop of your grip to function against, and thus the tension of the screen goes into moving the whole gun rather than just the slide.

Think of it like jumping off a diving board that breaks underneath you.

  • like to jam

  • My girlfriend was limp wristing my XDm-9 and causing this to happen.

  • @YellowKard LOL Limp wristing your XDm-9, is that what you kids call it these days?

  • Wow! Never realized the importance of that! It looks incredibly easy to do. Is there an automatic pistol that doesn't have this problem or at least more effective in solving it? Or is it pretty much standard throughout?

Revolvers shouldn't have this problem though, should they. Seems the way to go for self-defense in my opinion.

  • @KnightInBrightArmor 1911's usually will perform better in this test.....it seems to be a major prob, for polymer designs.

  • @SWABurBORE Thanks! I appreciate the info! :)

  • Comment removed

  • @KnightInBrightArmor Importance? Maybe. If it was such a serious issue, then police and military agencies in the United States and around the world wouldn't have dropped their revolvers for semi automatics in mass numbers.

  • @esh325 I can imagine that practicality probably overtook reliability in the case of the military/police. Not that these pistols are unreliable, just that revolvers seem to be more fool-proof. When one has a proper shooting technique, this shouldn't be an issue in a normal scenario and having only six long-loaded shots isn't very realistic in a modern war setting. So you're right! :)

But just on the off-chance that I was hurt in a place that would injure my shooting arm, I'd be out of luck. :(

  • What exactly is the TEST? Are you testing to see if you can limp wrist it? If so, you passed.

I imagine if one were so injured he could not shoot without limp-wristing, then he would be well-advised to brace his shooting arm or elbow against something like his body, a tree, or the ground.

  • @Balefulmoon he is testing the reliability of the pistol when he limp wrists it. calm down

  • good way to shoot yourself in the head.

  • why do the allways work very nice at target shooting but always fail at limp wrist tests?

  • I'm guessing if you use hotter loads, that problem is less likely to happen!!!

  • I never knew about that lol interesting and good to know. What are the best brands of pistols that you could avoid this happening to?

  • I appreciate these tests. There are scenarios when you may not be able to grip the gun tight or hold it properly while still having the desire to at least try to survive the situation.

  • Looks fun :3

  • Cool Vid Man!

  • Children.

  • If your testing the effects of limp wristing on both weapons, adding another variable like different ammunition can change the results of the test. Not saying that it did, but just sayin.

  • Interesting. I have emulated this same "limp-wrist" grip, and yielded perfect ejection and chambering everytime in my FNP. My guess is the ammo.

  • Dumb. Worst case scenario you would keep shooting with and injured hand. Shoot weak hand and get a better grip. Even if you were injured if you held a pistol like that you deserve to lose that gun fight. It has nothing to do with the weapon just the operator

  • @dylantouchedme You're dumb! why would you shoot weak handed? i would much rather shoot like this guy shows if my strong hand was injured, cuz it's my strong hand why would use my weak hand? it's weak. #sarcasm

  • Would this happen with a 1911 (all steel)? Guess that's another plus for a revolver.

  • @sungwei9 If you could even pull a DA revolver trigger with a gunshot wound to the arm or hand.

  • Funny I stumbled on this, I took my wife and mother in law shooting today and they kept getting stovepipes while I was fine, I knew it had to be the grip

  • Great video, makes you think twice about buying polymer pistols. Maybe they can solve this problem by adding an extra spring or a heavier spring to allow the slide to slam back harder. I like polymer, does not scratch, light weight and looks great, there has to be a solution.

  • Arm chair commandos don't seem to understand that in a gun fight wounds to your hand and arm are quite common. You'll need to be able to return fire while using improper technique and grip to save your life. GREAT VIDEOS!

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams why don't you go play C.O.D. or airsoft you moron... you can use your weak hand and still have proper grip

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams awwww some get butt hurt cuz someone schooled him? see, i know what i'm talking about because it's my job to know these things

  • @pirateburke86 Well I don't know what you do or why, but I've been shooting guns and training other to shoot long before you ever born. So once again I say FUCK OFF TROLL.

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams how do know how old i am? pretty bold statement. maybe should stop saying things in general. you're not very good at it

  • @pirateburke86 Because you foolish troll it said so on your profile before you took it off. Now please fuck off child, no one was talking to you anyway.

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams you got me there it was on my profile. but who is the one name calling and using the word "fuck" o you are, pretty childish if you ask me. sucks when crap comes out of your mouth and not your butt, huh? bet that doesn't taste good.

  • @pirateburke86 Don't try to play the injured one now you asshole, you are the one that trolled my comment which was not directed at you. You are the one who started name calling you fucking TROLL PIECE OF SHIT!

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams awwww you're still butt hurt. i'm not the injured one here, clearly. i don't care. and how is still name calling? not i you have done it in every response. and i didn't troll your comment, i pointed out that you are wrong

  • @pirateburke86 Typical troll, you try to piss someone off with rude comments and then call them but hurt when they tell you to fuck off. FUCK OFF YOU DUMB ASS TROLL.

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams you know what's really funny? is you could be the bigger man. you could prove that you are more mature then me an not have responded in the first place, i know you'll have some response to that, but you didn't. you called me names and used obscene language to try to prove that being a dick will get someone to stop. pretty childish/ stupid if you ask anyone. like i said i'm not injured, i clearly struck a nerve tho. and "but" is spelled "b-u-t-t"

  • It seems like the lighter the guns are the more they will jam especially in smaller caliber. All of the full metal frame guns have yet to jam right?

  • where do u buy your ammo -_-

  • This is just bad ammo, not the gun or limp wrist!

  • Very good video; this is what the manufacturers never want you to see. The chances of limp wristing in a defense situation where everything happens in split seconds is great in my opinion. If it's just a range gun it probably doesn't matter, but for shooting in unusual situations ie. the real world, I would want to know my weapon will go bang, limp wrist or not.

  • @retthok thats why you get a mossberg :)

  • Why does this happended? I dont understand it.

By the way, what is better .45 ACP or .40 SW.

  • @Golfather136

It is written in the intro of the video.

"Commonly encountered in polymer framed pistols, such as the Glock, XD, HK series pistols."

    Cheers.

  • @Golfather136 the gun is recoiling back instead of the slide cose he isnt holding the gun in place

  • Comment removed

  • So the question now is which polymer framed guns can be reliably shot while limp wristing. This is a good video. It's very possible you could be fighting for your life and have to fire a gun under unusual conditions.

  • seems like 9mm is the worst in the limp wrist tests

  • @ibanezkid07 he did show a S&W 5906 that pretty much functioned limp or firm in one video.

  • solution, take the threat away first and make it limp wristed. : )

  • Why does it jam more this way then holding it normally?

  • @hahaland74 It is really simple if you think about it. Most semi-auto pistols operate on the principle of blow back recoil. By limp wristing, you yourself is absorbing a lot of the recoil and taking that away from the pistol itself. Thus the pistol can not cycle due to loss of energy.

  • @makun16 , Thanks.

  • @makun16 Most semi auto service pistols of today are recoil operated rather then blowback.

  • I've seen my friend fuck up like that at a range many times. I kept trying to tell him it was shooter error.

  • what were you using some weak assed reloads? i've never had a limp jam with any factory charged rounds in all the tactical shooting i've done with my fnp45usg.

  • @thunderman1107 He is DEMONSTRATING limp wrist shooting.

  • @moisesfermin and what does it prove if you show no target?

  • @blisterpacman Nice one making yourself look stupid there. Hope you've realised your mistake by now.

  • @thunderman1107 because you were holding it properly...limp wristing is experienced when someone has been shot n lossed a lot of blood thus has very low energy n cant squeeze enough, or under extreme stress with an unfamiliar weapon etc...its a bizarre phenomenon that seems privy to the lighter polymer framed guns. if u watch his vid with a sig it didnt do it. hope that helps

  • @thunderman1107 because when your not able or don't hold the pistol tight enough the pistol is not rigid enough for the slide to fully cycle thus making it jam.

  • .48 sec. chambers a live round finger on the trigger, drops the mag.. picks it back up still finger on the trigger.charges the mag. guggles the weapon for grip still with his finger on the trigger. get some training before you kill someone!!!!!!!!!

  • @thunderman1107 What the fuck are you talking about? His finger was indexed on the trigger guard the whole time. You need to pay a visit to the optometrist before YOU run someone over.

  • @thunderman1107 hey safety sally no one cares hes not being one bit careless.

  • @thunderman1107 hey safety sally no one cares hes not being one bit careless.

  • solution: muzzle brake

  • @ww2footage yep you are correct. or fit a neilson device... basically a springloaded muzzle break. either way.

  • @ww2footage *face palm shakes head looks at you with a blank face* you're an idiot *walks away*

  • On one of your earlier limp wrist tests the regular XD9 passed.

So whatever they modified in the XDM version makes it more susceptible to limp wrist failures?

  • Mosty polymer guns have this problem when firing limp wristed. I would have like to have seen a couple of shots with a good grip to show the gun is not malfunctioning and it is the grip causing the jams..

  • Wow every round! Thanks for testing

  • that's good to know...

  • Oh wow.

  • Ouch. How light are the frames on those guns? The Glock has a really light frame on it and it fails all the time in this test. Heavier framed polymer guns seem to fair better.
