I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me" (John 8:17-18). In Hebrews 1:8 we see what the Father says about the Son, "Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom." Jesus is God, the Father is God, & the Spirit is God.
Do you know scripture says that Jesus is the Son of God? Why are you questioning brother Hicks? What you are doing is nick picking his words. He, you & i are people. Jesus said when you see him you see the Father he & the Father were & are one. It's sort of a mystery. You know how comedians impersonate actors etc. well Jesus TRULY embodied GOD in the flesh representing the Father. Emmanuel God with us. That's why brother Hicks said Jesus was God in the flesh.

The idea is that He is eternal and has the rights of a first-born over all creatures, because He created them all. It is commonly misunderstood by people as saying He is created, but the whole passage teaches that He is the Creator, not a created being. We also must not confuse points about His humanity with His deity.

I want to do some kind of art project for God, an overview of the Bible in color, I have the format, but lately I've been too involved in life's struggles, it's time consuming. Jesus became the Son for His role saving us. Mary is Jesus' mother humanly, but is not the mother of God or anything like that. She was the vessel used to bring forth God manifest in the flesh. @savana906 It really is a very basic truth. If one believes in another Jesus other than the Son of God, God Almighty manifest in the flesh, then they do not believe on Jesus. Sadly, many fall into that category today. Salvation only comes through faith in the great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
