  • wat is the diffrence between the sand tiger shark and the tiger shark??

  • can someone post the whole episode...please

  • 1:47... No duh.

  • fuck that i would of left that shark lol

  • why couldnt they just pull it out right away? why did he have to put his hand down the sharks throat?

  • @remusjacobs: They couldn't pull it out right away because doing this would tear crucial gill and throat flesh. The shark could die, and that would defeat the purpose. The Vet has to un hook the spear end from the flesh with a minimum of damage. All considered, they did a very good job in this stressful situation.

From a shark lover, and going to be marine biologist

Ps. Doing anything while scuba diving is difficult and dangerous. I know from experience.

  • its pointless. just for television purposes. too much time and effort and money put in to this. the shark is animal we can do without. and 1 question, whats up with the baby on the belly ?

  • You should watch Shark Water. Its on youtube I think. Its really interesting and explains why we need sharks in the ocean.

  • @AsianHomeVideos : This is not an animal we can do without. The ocean needs the predators to keep populations in check. We, in our exploration of the oceans, are tresspassing in their territory. Would you save a dying dog with a gunshot wound? What is so different about a shark? Sharks have a bad rep for being human killers. They aren't. The "baby" on it's belly is a Remora, also known as a sucker fish. These animals attach to a shark's belly and eat parasites from the shark's skin.

  • Obviously there is a need for educating the public as far as sharks are concerned. Sharks are the apex predators of their environment and one of the most important species in the ecosystem of the worlds oceans.

  • Right now is a critical time in the battle against overfishing and polution that is destroying one of our most important resources. Man has depended on the ocean since the beginning. To think that we could destroy the habitat robbing future generations of its delicate beauty, its bounty, and other natural resources because we failed to recognize its importance is beyond me.

  • oh wait nvm

  • how are they even rescueing it?

  • I was going to sub but since you left us all hanging I'll pass!!!!!!!!

  • this video makes my butt cheeks jiggle with excitment.. know what i mean? hammer time

  • ROFL WTF :D

  • kool

  • wheres the rest?

  • Really? Tell us more. Specific details would be appreciated.

  • OHMYGOD where is the rest?

i'm dying to know what happens!

  • Hey what you do today

    O a yea i wreslted a shark on a rope....

    WOW

  • "man-eating" Sand tiger??? Sand tigers are docile sharks and have not been known to outright attack humans.

  • @jcnme27 I apreciate that. Sharks really have a bad rep from movies like jaws. I love sharks, they are my favorite animals. Always have been, always will be!

  • wheres the rest????????

  • Love to see Mankind doing something good for a change! Sure find the comments over-dramatizing narrator irritating...sure, it's a dangerous and risky endeavor on many levels but sheesh, don't make it so reality-tv-like and ruin the real drama!

  • Reminds me of the time I had to lasso my grandma for her surgery.

  • Perhaps she's no more of an advocate for "modern medicine" than other informed souls ~

  • THAT SUCKED. It was going so well, then suddenly, they just stopped the video and now we don't know what happened! National Geographic has gone so downhill since they changed to NatGeo. They used to be respectable, not they are a joke.

  • its people like this that redeems mankind in someway

  • Absolutely amazing video!

    NatGeo RULES!

  • its determination and like these amazing people, the whole team deserves a noble peace prize just for being amazing. this is amazing, poor shark

  • free health care for sharks.. but not for americans....O.K.

  • thats not free lol

  • haha TRUE.

  • Sharks are healthy. Not fat.

  • i'm thinking every SHARK LASSO .. is going to be CUSTOM

  • wtf happen to the rest , shit man RATED 1 STAR JUST FOR THAT!!

  • you're gonna see me doing this in a few years ;)

  • same here!

  • wtf I wanted to know what happened! i dont have national geographic channel

and also I agree with animefake1

  • Ugh i hate when they leave you wanting more,... it's like going to commercial it's annoying :(

  • It is a commercial.

  • suspenseful. I would have liked to see what happened to the shark though

  • hey I made a naughty reply to this vid that u can watch

  • wtf where the rest???!

  • fucking assholes what happends next

  • i feel sad for the shark

these humans are trying to help the shark, while others harm. how is the shark suppose to know who to trust when the good people are shoving the shark into a cage?

  • wow just when it was getting good...

  • I know really.

  • seriously! wonder what happened!

  • It's a sand tiger shark, its not a man eater. They're actually pretty friendly with humans. You can feed them out of your hands in an aquarium in Sydney.

  • So, what happens?

  • is taht a parasite | fish under the shark? o.o

  • that fish is called a Remora. they are very commonly found under sharks (and other large marine life). they basically eat the little scraps of food that dribble from the hosts mouth while also taking advantage of the fact that they are hitching a free ride and provided with protection (since they latch onto creatures that usually arent messed with). its commensalism, -the remora benefits but the shark (or w/e) doesnt really care or is effected. so not a parasite because its not harming the host

  • me and my son were thinking the same thing, "I would HATE to have that job"

  • good work guys! it's ironic how these guys would go out of their way to save a shark, when one of those asian fishing boats would have chopped off its fins and tail and thrown it back into the water.

  • OMG!! Poor shark. ;(

  • almost seemed like they were doing more harm than good until they finally got the rod out.

  • Help us help u!

Shark: NOESSS, Iss not want HELP!!

  • wow so it comes on sun oct 18?

  • omgomgomgomg. what happenssss?!?! O.o

I was sitting on the edge of my seat! Dx

  • What a creepy procedure.... I would be scared, if I were in the vet's shoes.

  • What's with the description of this video referring to a sand tiger as "a man-eating" shark? I would expect that kind of thing from The Discovery Channel, but I expect more from National Geographic.

  • nope

  • Aww I wanna know what happens

  • Me too. These National Geographic videos are just the teasers. Fortunately on their website they have longer, more complete videos.

  • fuck that shit

  • lol

  • Don't worry. David Letterman said gaffes aren't fatal.

  • "When People Attack"

  • NG Channel kicks asss

  • *Unsubscribed for cliffhangers*

    Naw, just joking.

  • Unlike the faggot-ass "fishermen" who cut off only the sharks' fins and dump the rest of the dying shark to the depths, I'd rather save the sharks.

NatGeo should expose those fuckers for the frauds they are.

  • No way I'm ever going to save any shark that big

  • Ok I see. Have to wait until Oct. 18th.

  • lmao "sliding the beast all the way in" thats what she said

  • maturity: not your strongpoint.

  • gooooooooooood comeback.

  • thanks fag

  • Stop using vulgar language.

  • Why would you post a video and not tell us what happens in the end?? Did he live? How did they get it out?...

  • Damnit, cliff hanger. :(

  • I dont think nature intended for that man made tube to be lodged in the shark's throat -_-.

  • Poor shark! I hope they save the little guy. I'm so going to tape this in my DVR!

  • Feet work better on land so that's where you could find me....

  • Well nature doesn't have thumbs. So human who care are there to help.

  • this is why im taking my open water diver class...i wanna do shit like this!

  • lol what the hell?? where the "F" is part two?!?!?!

  • I think its like a preview.

  • "sliding the beast all the way in"

  • That poor shark. ):
