now THIS is cool!! hahaha like the original-original at the drive-in.. when it was only jim ward and cedric bixler-zavala! its really fucking cool to see them in this light!! playing "bradley smith" and "grand mox turkin" live! cool upload.. how did you get this?
@mark1800 search "at the drive-in old" or "at the drive-in classroom video" or live in PA or something. i think i was wrong about when that was tho, in the comments people are saying its 1998
um dont quote me on this but there is an article of reference attached to ATDI's wikipedia page... explains the situation. i wont try and explain the storey, would do it no justice..
rumour has it jim and cedric are cool now, and a reunion has been discussed. very primitive discussions. cedric said hed do it if the money was right.
ever hear of the bands sparta? or sleepercar? oh new flash, Ward is very much alive, get your facts straight!! His cousin Jeremy died, and last I checked he wasn't in ATDI but he was in TMV
des412 fucking ignorant, they're at the drive-in!, in their very first material, they even have this song in their LP called "alfaro vive, carajo!", And they also released an LP called "hell paso", before this one wich included just 3 tracks & one originally released by the band "jerk" but never recorded with them.
I still refuse to believe that this is Plastic Memories. Perhaps an early version i guess, but the only thing it has in common is a couple lines of lyrics.
I would also like to say that Jim kicks ass. I don't think he doesn't get as much credit as he deserves. It seems like people assume that any cool guitar part is Omar but that is the beautiful thing about ATDI... two awesome/creative guitarists.
Haha, yeah it's hard to believe but this is a very early ATD-I before they solidified their lineup. Cedric is on lead vocals and Jim is on guitar and backing vocals; Omar, Tony, and Paul had not yet joined the band.
i'm pretty sure this isn't plastic memories, cause it still has the line "i've become what we most dislike in this picket fence cartel" and it's longer too. still a good song, but i'd like to know it's name :/

Yeah, it's 1998. It's their 1998 line-up, 1998 hair, and 1998 songs. :D

THATS NOT FUCKIN AT THE DRIVE IN
FUCK YOU SHIT BAG!!!!!
des412 4 years ago
It is At The Drive-In. Cedric is on lead vocals while Jim is playing guitar and providing the backing vocals. Now I demand an apology.
Stroma2 4 years ago
Cedric just doesn't have an afro and I don't think Omar joined 'till 1996, though I'm not sure.
MustBeUnearthed 4 years ago
This is early ATDI
Cedric and Jim are probably the only ones you recognize (Cedric being sans fro)
Look at band line-ups for Hell Paso and Alfaro Vive, Carajo!
and listen to the studio version of this song

oh, it's plastic memories, alright. albeit a slow version.

It's "Plastic Memories" and the song is already in progress when the recording starts.
