I use 3/4" 160 PSI and have made over 40 hoops but I have such a hard time making a perfectly round hoop for isolations. Any suggestions? Also, someone mentioned the pipe cutters - $10 and the cut is clean and takes 2 seconds :)
I made a hula hoop but did not realize until after the fact that I had used tubing that was too soft. As to not waste the $25, do you have any suggestions?
I love your videos! So amazingly informative!!! (and, btw...I have watched this one loads of times already -- there is so much good info here, don't want to miss anything) Thank U! :-)
its to big or you have thin tubing. you can try PVC piping cuz the piping on here you can't find cuz they discontinued it.....(it was making people sick)
This is a great help in how to make hoops! My only suggestion would be to invest in a ratcheting pipe cutter. They are like giant scissors and will make super straight, clean cuts. I have seen them at lowes for about $10! Cutting with a saw is a pain in the rear, and looks scary to do on your lap :[
omg thank you so much i really dont feel like buying hoops anymore i rather buy the equipmentt to make my own and make my own designs thanx sooooo much ur a very very big help :) :)
Awesome - I've read some instructions, but it's nice to actually SEE the process. I especially like it that you didn't use a PVC cutter, as I don't want to spend the money on another tool. I can't wait to try it!
i love the videos.. ive been making hoops for a while now and thought you might like the idea of a ratcheting pvc cutter.. they work wicked good on cutting the tube!! no mess and a lot easier then a saw!!
I went to Lowes and couldn't find the PVC black tubing in a coil shape. They are usually straight. The connector wasn't there either. I looked in the plumbing department but had no luck. Where did you exactly pick it up at Lowes? Where do you get the color tapes?
Not all Lowes stores keep the tubing in stock all the time, but they can order it for you. The stock numbers are as follows: 1" 160 psi #24197 1" 100 psi #24169 3/4" 160 psi #24195 3/4" 100 psi #24166 1/2" 125 psi #24163 Connectors - the ones I got were: 1" #22534 3/4" #22533 (I know they have 1/2" but don't know the number). G'luck!
Anyone have problems w/ the tubing not making a circle after connecting them? I've tried 2x using 100 psi tubing and after I connect them, it warps into this flat shape (the side where the connector is) ..
Thanks from Mexico!Yay!!!! Never tried the heat thing before! :) mmmhmmm...I was about to ask you something, if you ever get the chance, would you be so kind to show us how to raise the hoop from the floor using feet and ankles? GRACIAS!
This is exactly what I was looking for!! I can read the instructions with pics others have posted but the video answered ALL my questions! Thanks sooo much for doing this. I'm off to Lowes... I can't wait til my 8 year old daughter gets home after school!!!
Hey girl, It is so wonderful you are willing to share the hoop love!!!! All your instructional videos are great!! I am determined to make hoops . I am having a hard time with the melting and connecting of the hoop. Blow dryer and water didn't do it and now I have the super heat gun and I don't know if I am over melting or what because the hoop deforms. I have also gotten a coupling and little risers (as connectors). Any secrets? Thank you so much!!!! :) ps your pyro group looks cool
I taught myself how to hoop with just the little plastic hula-hoops you can get from the store but was never crafty enough to figure out how the hell to make my own nice big hoop to work with. THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!! You are AMAZING!!!
Natasha Thank you so much for this video... I have created my first hoop and am having a ball with my daughter! We hope to see you sometime in Cincinnati!
Wow, this really works! xD You video inspired me to go over to the local Lowes and get some stuff, and poof, a hula hoop! Thanks so much for making this video, it really helped! =D Now I have a nice, big hula hoop. ^__^ Although, any suggestions on hooping around your thighs/knees/legs in general? I can't seem to get it down.

Do you know the name of the item or another new Item number?
Thank you so much!

Another great vid Natasha. :)
I've found that holding the ends in boiling water for about 30 seconds really loosens up the ends nicely without melting the edges.
llsurreall 4 years ago
ilsurreal, i use hot H2O too, but i just microwave a mugfull of H2O for a coupla minutes--the tubing fits nicely, and no waiting or melting!

Excellent vid! I think you would really love a Ratcheting PVC cutter. No mess, quick, and they are under $15. They can be found close to the PVC.
