Barium nitrate and sulfur are part of the military patent on what is known as thermate (thermite with sulfur and barium nitrate added). Barium is a very toxic metal, so one would not expect it to be present in the large concentrations in WTC dust.

The thermite reaction produced molten iron which was seen pouring out of one of the Towers. Pools of molten iron were still being found under the Twin Towers and Building 7 rubble up to 6 weeks after 9/11.
