What do you mean by "true" Christian? To be a Christian all you have to do is believe in God and Christ (and Christ's life, death, etc.). I agree that she does not represent modern day Christianity (which has been watered down and edited to seem less absurd). Yuna you may be right but you can't deny that there is a profound mystery to our existance. At least on the surface it appears that way. I don't think there's a god any more than you do, but there is a mystery and in that mystery lies the creative play of wonder and investigation. I think your theory about the ancients on drugs is true, but the need to identify with a higher power would have come from the fear of our own mortality anyway, even without drugs.

ah fringe here is the fun part. Human creativity back then had an huge impact on what the people think. This is the mystery of existence. Eras back people minds were easily manipulated because of lack of knowledge. The controvesial topics are all there, people though earth was flat, people said galileo was wrong when he proved earth was not centre of the universe which was true, ... Because of simple minded beings back then, little stories made up to be true ("legends")

I have entertained that possibility too,but I don't stay there because to hold on to any one unprovable position in this philosophical realm is to stagnate and decay.I prefer to entertain a view that works independently of the notion that the true nature of reality transcends all conceptual fabrications and is therefore unknowable or that twinkies have enough preservatives in them to eventually become one of the seven wonders of the world.The latter represents the randomness of it all.

Playing both possibilities seems to me at least more intellectually honest. I mean a conservative agnosticism opens one up to the possibilities of a third way rather than shear chance, even if it doesn't include the notion of a god. Maybe the creature simply isn't smart enough to understand or comprehend eternity or the lack thereof. It's all madness on some level so I just don't make any promises.

No, that's called an infinite progression and in this world of opposites and form it can be defined. True infinity goes beyond, in theory any contemplation of it. Even as an it. To say this does not neccessitate the existance of a God. Whatever can be though of with the mind can not touch it, smell it, see it, feel it, hear it. There can be insight to this, but it may require abandoning the monotheistic or theistic tradition all together. Don't close yourself off to all experiences just yet.
