Flowers? I take the ranger to the dealer who sold it me, a ford certified dealer.
So, my last set of tires, Ford dealer's certified had 3 different leaks in the last 3 months.
Nothing imbedded in the tires.
Tiny punctures in tires that are going on to have on them just under 10,000 miles, not run down, not overworked- I no longer have the time to go anywhere, so it's the highways and town road.
I hate this.
And yeah, dealer's service should be there, it's part of the pricing.
It seems that the idea of service provided by dealer is strange to you. No wonder, dealers now pass hybrid among themselves to get the tax credit on each car and then hike the price 50%. Service is gone.
I am so tired of both, lack of honesty and the simple mindlessness of people who want to solve problems in 140 characters that indeed I just might buy Czech car with the export to US German label.
I bought 2005 Ranger, it really has no bearing on the make how good it was in the years before.
I own 1990 Ford, it is still running, had very few problem after the original transmission was replaced by the original dealer because it was faulty, and run as far as I know through 2 sets of tires.
I have a 2004 ranger I bought new, it has 58,000 miles on it and I have only bought one set of tires, that was after 50,000 miles . Other than that I have done nothing to the truck except drive it, wash it , and change the oil. It has been trouble free.
Why do you call it a car? And you must drive like a maniac to cause that much damage. You're on crack cocaine and you're about seventeen years old, judging by your spelling learned in public school.
I have a 2000 Ranger 2.5L A/T with 180k miles and still get 24/27 mpg. Probably only spent around 2000 dollars in repairs in the past 10 years (includes everything but oil changes). I do all the repairs myself. Maybe people need to stop being lazy and do the repairs on their vehicles and save themselves some money. And don't give me that crap about "I don't know how to fix it". There are tons of forums out there for help. Most of my repairs was my first time fixing that type of problem.
@wshelto6 Hurray for you. The 2005 never did get the mileage it was supposed to despite drinking Shell and Mobil and it requires the attention my my garage so often they know me by name and gave me flower at Christmas.
They also know my old Ford, they just don't get to see it very often. And yeah, the old one is 1990.
I bought a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 in 1999. I have issues with the fuel economy not being as good as it should. I also have had issues with water leaking inside the cowl and water ending up in the passenger floor board area. Mine was made in the factory Edison, New Jersey that was closed down in 2004. I had a coolant leak at 36,000 miles, it was sort of a expensive repair after the warranty went out. The front seal went bad on the engine. The original battery lasted over 10 years.
The Ford Ranger is one of the best vehicles ever produced. Get one with a manual trans and they are practically bulletproof. I am a certified master technician. Come on new tires every 12 months,,,,, Shocks and an alignment every other oil change.... Give me a break...
Your rant is full of bad information, quit spreading bad information about one of the best vehicles out there.
@sleak112 The Ranger, that I take the same care off, its tires are form Ford dealers, its original dealer, its brakes were fixed by dealer- and by own mechanic by know- required transmission drain, then transmission seal fix, the brakes, shocks, brakes pad, two sets of tires, and its original battery died 4 months after purchase.2 Ford tires leaked-at15,000. It's badly made and Ford no longer cares.
@sleak112 Ford used to be good, that is why I bought Ranger, I had 3 other Ford vehicles before, and it went down. Last survey admits that it is no longer reliable, no longer well made and it comes in the last 10.
Perhaps when my Fords had the union stamp the workers cared, they were well paid, respected and proud of their work.
yea and you prob bought the cheapest tires and complained about everything in the truck... If you dont like it dont buy it... these are great trucks mine first one (1994 3.0L) died with 345000 miles on it and my 96 (4.0L) now has 167000 mile on it and still has the original shocks and alternator and water pump, A/C unit and the list goes on and on and on.... cant stand people who abuse cars/trucks and say there crap!
you are so retared i own a 95 and its the oldest car ive driven i had 3 new grand ams befor this and they were piles of junk . what do you mean they cost so much . tires are a grand am are twice the price of a ford ranger because they are the low pros to clean the struts . the only reason why a ford goes threw tires more is because it is driven. This is the reason why ford does not need bail out money and gm puts there hands out
I have a Mazda B3000 from 2001, its the same thing as a ford ranger same engine, and i have 245,000 miles on it, the truck has been so good to me all i have had repaired on it was a gasket leak back at 135,000 miles. The truck is awesome the people that say that this car does not last is a complete moron.
where do you find these numbers and what are you trying to prove, the Ford Ranger outlasts just about any Japanese car on the market, mine is 15 years old and not a problem, all thats needed to be replaced was exhaust and gas tank straps, it has over 235k on it and not a problem. Japanese cars will last you five years before life threatening rusting occurs and burning oil.
@RangerXL94: I think that it's safe to say that "helpisnotavailable" is an import fanboy. In actuality, the Ranger is one of the longest lasting vehicles made today. A friend of mine owns one that has over 200,000 miles with no major repairs done to it. Only a nimrod would judge a car by how long the tires last.
@RangerXL94 Don't know what to tell you. My friend's 05 Ranger has broken down 3 times in the last 3 years. On the other hand, it doesn't surprise most Subaru or Honda owners for their vehicles to last to 350k with no major engine repairs. The numbers in reliability surveys don't back you up, either...
@RangerXL94 I should add that older Fords were pretty bulletproof. I had a 93 Explorer that lasted to almost 200k with no issues, and the 90 Ranger outlived it's owners and is still going...
However, newer ones aren't very reliable in my experience. In addition to the above Ranger, I drove a 2010 Fusion as a rental for a few weeks. The transmission blew pretty quickly...
this is simply not true... are you going to make another video sayting the gt40 is slow?
