How is this 'shocking', Cenk? You make it sound as if there was some kind of conspiracy, Lol. Wouldn't it make sense that conservative organizations hire fellow right-wingers they think have credibility and vice versa? You don't think liberals and Democrats do this kind of thing? I have a yacht to sell you if you're that naive.
Of note is how long The New York Times allowed Ms. Miller to publish her neo-con propaganda under the guise of news reporting. The Times more than failed in its journalistic duties, imho. But THIS is what you get when you have corporate owned media.
Judith Miller was recently on Fox News, with a story about Iran's Nuclear weapons (or the so called Weapons).. I was like "Oh No, not again this woman"...
Anyways, she was having sex with a Army Capt in Iraq and getting some info about any possible WMDs cache there, but no luck..
The main problem with Republicans is they want every thing to stay traditional, and still want to live by 100 year old ideals, but things change and so do ideas, which always creates irational debates instead of logical debates.
The founders of this country would start another revolution against the conservatives of today. I hope you are not ignorant enough to think they stand for the same things.
But they do. Conservatives support strong local and state governments, and want less power for the federal government. This is consistent with many founding fathers' opinions. They supported states rights to determine controversial law, which in this day and age could be considered abortion or gay marriage. The liberal notion is to accept these things with federal enforcement; the conservative is to leave it to the states to decide..., though some conservatives do incidentally support federal
bans on these issues, which is ironically inherently liberal. Notions such as UHC, income tax, increased regulation of the economy and taxing the wealthy are all the opposite of what conservatives and the founding fathers do stand and stood for. The only issue that comes to mind that conservatives have pushed for recently that would disgust the founders' perhaps is the conflict in Iraq, though this may be incidental because conservatives often promote isolationist policy anyways.
I think it is important to recognize that things change, and the founding fathers very well may not like the way the country is run today, but I feel that if they were introduced into this society they would with time come to their own conclusions, but initially they would side with most conservatives. None of this is really relevant though because this is our nation to run and they can't come back.
But that was 200 hundred years ago, and sadly, real conservatism doesn't exist anymore. The founding fathers were deists, atheists, and Unitarians, who would be appalled at the way the Republican party has bent over for the christian interests in America. When the founders came up with the ideas for the American Government, their ideas were revolutionary, for the time, now, they appear quite conservative. I feel like they would be liberal, because the conserv. movement has been so perverted.
don't forget that some of them formed the conservative side, and others formed a more "liberal" side. its the classic Thomas Jefferson vs Alexander Hamilton issue. another issue is that, at least on the national level, most "conservatives" arent really that, as you conceded at one point. ideal conservatives some of them may agree with, but that is somewhat different than the "right-wing" in my opinion.
Faux news is unprofessional. The only liberal I know on Faux is Alan Colmes. Everyone else is a Republican and so rude. When their "journalists" interview ppl who disagree with them, they're rude & interrupt them. You can say what you want at CNN & MSNBC but their journalists are professional and let each side talk. They never insult their guests. O'Reilly & Hannity sometimes even insult guests and call them names. And MSNBC only has Olbermann/Maddow but everyone on Faux news is conservative.
Miller had exclusive coverage on WMD hunter teams-couldn't find them, Army called them back Miller said no & calls GENERAL PETRAEUS who overrides their orders.
You know what, I was wondering what the benefits of being a republican were. Is this why people even choose to become a republican so that they can curry favor in order to advance their career? Is this how one would get in good with the "good ole boy" network? Maybe someone can enlighten me on this topic.
How come the NY Times hired Bill Kristol and they already have conservative David Brooks but Fox NEVER hires liberals? They have ONE weak, funny looking Dem who is kind of but not really liberal (Alan Colmes) and that's it. Even Newsweek hired Karl Rove!
Where is this mythical liberal media bias? Answer: It doesn't exist. Even MSNBC only has TWO liberals. That's it, two. Olbermann and Maddow. Funny how people ignore Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan, a guy that's on every 10 seconds.
Finally more people are aware of this liberal-media myth if it were true Bush would not have "won" again, and we would have Keating five and the G Gorden Liddy story on 24/7.

They're masters of twisting language (although sometimes they take it to infantile extremes, like the whole "Democrat party" thing.)
Try this, replace the phrase "liberal bias" with "factual bias" every time you come across it. Its fun!... and depressing.
