It's not the DETROIT automakers, it's the AMERICAN automakers. Many good people that shop at the local grocery store, send their kids to the local college and get their homes fixed with the local homebuilders that would lose their jobs if GM, Ford or Chrysler "go to hell". The wages of every person that makes above min wage woould also be affected. At least the industry MAKES something that you can touch (banks make nothing) When will Americans fight for and support America agian?

1) Overpaid line workers. Most of the cost of your car comes from labor costs, all the way along the production line.
2) People's fickle car choices. Five years ago, everyone wanted an Suv. Now we all need efficiency cars. That changes things.
