  • he looks like Travolta in Grease, and Saturnnight fever :D

  • Its a gibson es350

  • gibson ? or is that a gretsch?

  • Eric cuando sea grande quiero ser como vos!!!

  • i appreciate clapton paying ribute to the old blues singers but it makes a lil difference when one has lived it,elmore james i think owns this but clapton can play a guitar!!

  • @snecadc10 all due respect ,Clapton has been through some hard times too

  • What a great version. Clapton is amazing.

  • This is my favourite version of this song been looking for it for years!!!

  • His voice is soooo rich in this - his voice blew me away when I first saw him in the late '80's. It's mellower now, but his guitar has just got hotter, with ever more authority.

Eric? Should be called EPIC Clapton.

  • Outstanding!

  • Does anyone know in what tuning hes playing in?

  • @DayTripperLennon pretty sure its standard i was just following it on my guitar half step down at most

  • 0:43 Is he playing with priest or something ?:D

  • i'm goin to learn this on the guitar today

  • Blazin' the Jazz Box!!!!

  • Sucks compared to Elmore James

  • @jc1420 Check out Luther Allison's version, beats the hell out of this one. Elmore is the man too.

  • Is he playing with a slide??

  • @savannacoen11 yes, he's using a glass slider

  • @savannacoen11 yes a glass one.

  • I love Eric and he's the MAN with that guitar, but his singing on this song can't touch Elmore James'. Still good, but second best.

  • this song gives me goosebumps.. i love the blues! :)

  • @satansprick13 He actually helped Bob Marley to become amous with his version of I Shot the Seriff, how can you call him racist ? And if he fails at blues ( as you calld Black music ) why did Muddy Waters and BB King called him many times to play with them ? Go do some research before posting dumb yhings on YouTube.

  • @Nugtes Congratulations, Nugtes, This fucking idiot post your dumb comment without know nothing at all.....

  • I should be doing my homeworks. :3

  • @MerinMcCartney Thank you for reminding me. I'm in that situation right now :P

  • @MerinMcCartney mate you've definitely got your priorities sorted out. this is WAY more important than anything you're gonna learn in class

  • @MerinMcCartney you should learn English :3

  • @MerinMcCartney Me to. :')

  • @MerinMcCartney me 2 hahaha,

  • @MerinMcCartney Learn to play the blues instead:-)

  • do you know that clapton refused to play on a festival cos there was a black band also goin to play:bo marley and the wailers. this bastard now kisses asses in buckinham palace....he is zhe most boring guitarplayer.and he ripped and tried to learn the blues from BLACK people.but failed miserably.helter skelter is knockin on your door ......huh.no more nazi white!!!!! booyakasha

  • so do i rokedetbamidbar, ive never managed to see him live and ive been a big fan since the 1960s.

  • Blues at its best ... I was in Hyde Park 2008 ... too bad I missed this one!!!!!!!

  • thin・・・・・

  • I was at this gig for the mastercard princes trust, dylan was a little lousy, I missed alanis who played first, quadrophenia not my cup of tea, but eric was f*****g brilliant, especially th solo on Old Love

  • check out the original one by the late Elmore James.

without people like this , it would have been impossable to call

clap-town the copicat "god". It's pathetic how they use a silly

digital piano and put in a old piano frame just to make it old school..

    what's wrong with a real piano , what's wrong with clapton ?

muddy waters, elmore james, sonny boy, otis rush, t bone walker,...

those are the real GODS with a style all of their own.

  • @TheBartsbart Have you ever been a roadie trying to shove a grand piano in the back of a transit?

  • @xQueenxJanex I love much too much the "Black guitar players" as well ......but, come on,there are not felling in this mucic? White guitar players do not know play a blues? This is racism too....Albert king is god, Elmore james is god and clqapton is god too!

  • @rogemasc I completely agree. Who cares what they look like? They are some of the best musicians in the world!

  • @xQueenxJanex I love much too much the "Black guitar players" as well ......but, come on,there are not felling in this music? White guitar players do not know play a blues? This is racism too....Albert king is god, Elmore james is god and clapton is god too!

  • @TheBartsbart thumbs up....although note that the original "it hurts me too" was written and recorded 25 years before Elmores recording,in I think 1932 by Tampa Red in Chicago,on the Bluebird label. Under the title, 'When things go wrong'...not sure why they credit Elmore James on this.

  • I like Keb Mo's version better! The whiteman can never pick up the real essence of The Blues because ITS A BLACK THING with all the years of slavery and suffering embedded!

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck Suffering is universal. It's a HUMAN thing.

  • @codyandkassi Don't fucking insult me with your caucasianal bullshit fella! Us Blacks have endured over some 600 years of fucking suffering under white supremacy and counting! you motherfuckers aint never had to suffer like The Blackman and Woman had to fucking suffer so you can kiss my Black ass.

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck I see where you're coming from and it's an incredibly hateful place.

I'm a woman and we have long suffered since the beginning of time and continue so. But somehow you think your suffering trumps all others. The "real essence" of this music -all music- is HEART and SOUL ....... which you are seriously devoid of.

  • @codyandkassi You a damn lie! The Whiteman mistreated women not us Blackmen. In Egypt women were treated as Goddesses equal to men or better! and my wife gets anything she wants ! There is no justice for us Black people!

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck You can't possibly be serious?? Do you even read the newspaper? Look up female genital cutting. Wikipedia has a whole series dedicated to violence against women if you're interested in learning something besides spouting off bullshit.

Life is way too short and precious to be arguing with such a resentful, arrogant, misguided FOOL. The Blues is not this sacred thing to be enjoyed by blacks only -as if they are the only ones who feel pain. We all feel it. Black & White.

  • @codyandkassi Bitch Please!` look at castration, look at circumcision! Like I told yo dumb ass before that belittleing women is a European concept because us Blacks are known to hold our Black women to the highest esteem but since we intergrated with these white motherfuckers we have learned they're satanic ways and you women have done the same with all this strange ass euro weave shit and Feminist Movement shit that only seperates us some more! and in parting! FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING BITCH!

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck I don't argue with mentally disturbed people. Continue your hatemongering rampage somewhere else, you racist troll.

  • @codyandkassi Ive been called worse shit that that by lesbian dyke bitches like you. You got a fucking problem with men then what the fuck you wanna do you fucking dike? you aint gon do shit but withdraw your stanking ass pussy from fucking a nigga like you punishing a motherfucker or something bitch! FUCK YOUR PUSSY AND YOU TAINTED FUCKING WOMB BITCH! NOW YOU DONE MADE ME MAD BECAUSE YOU BITCHES WANNA TALK SHIT BUT WHEN YOU LOOKING AT GETTING YO ASS WHOOPED YOU WANNA SAY DONT HIT A WOMAN. BUTCH

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck Aw, so THIS is how you black men treat women? I hope you don't call your wife those things when you fail at communicating like an adult. Good luck in life. You're going to need it with an attitude like yours.

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck Stop. You're embarrassing yourself. Face it, you got OWNED by this white woman. No pun intended. And I didn't have to resort to violent threats and name calling. Your anger makes you pathetic and weak. Do everyone a favour and stay in what ever Shit Hole you're from, sparing the world of your racist, misogynist propaganda. Try listening to some Clapton. Maybe that'll calm you down.

  • @codyandkassi You can't own me bitch! Them African Slave Trade Days are over with you white stupid bitch! Your weak ass can hardly own your dog Gunnar so you definatley cant own me because Id bite your bitchass ever harder than fucking mutt Gunnar ever could! You white cave bitches are self destructing as we speak! you motherfuckers dying off like hot cakes at IHOP and you have a 0% Birth Rate! You can never own me bitch remember that! I don't want your stanking ass mutant neandrtal pussy!

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck Metaphorically speaking, the white man DOES own you. As long as you feel contempt, hatred and resentment you'll never be free. I suppose that's too deep of a concept for someone like you to understand.

I'm not interested in your animosity-filled rebuttal. You've had nothing worthwhile to say. BLOCKED.

  • @codyandkassi Fuck a Metaphor, If I wanted to be bombarded with metaphors Id read The so called Holy Bible written by Shakespeare and The Nicean Council in 325AD. I suppose this reality is too honest and forthright for a Lying, Decietful neanderhalic pale caucus cave devil like yourself to even attempt to comprehend.

  • @codyandkassi I knock arrogant big mouth confuced dyke bitches dead in they fucking mouth hard as I can like you a fucking man because you talk too motherfucking much! YOU WANNA PUNK ME BITCH? WELL YOU WILL GET FUCKING FUCKED UP IF YOU WANNA TAKE ON A MANS PERSONA. YOU OPEN YOUR FUCKING MOUTH TO TALK TOUGH TALK TO ME, BE LOOKING FOR A ASSWHOOPING COMING YOUR WAY BECAUSE IM AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY ASSKICKER. i FUCK UP WHITEMEN, WHITE WOMEN, AND SHIT TALKING ASS BLACK BITCHES LIKE YOUR BITCHASS.

  • the man you love, loves another woman

  • Great tune!

  • Awesome,,,I like a lot :)

  • he kinda looks like house m.d

  • Eric Clapton Is the worst blues man in the history of the blues, he is just a thief of the black music

  • @abuelantastico I kinda agree. He isn't a bluesman, he's just a dabbler.

  • @Kynatics Dabbler ? Who the "F" are you ?

  • @leycyp Oh c'mon, don't give me that. As outstanding as E.C. is, he isn't the most fiery bluesman in history. Certainly not up to the ranks of Peter Green or John Mayall.

  • @Kynatics You mean if he doesn't only play the blues then he can't be considered a bluesman?! Really?!

  • @OssMan25 You're generalizing what I said. I'm only talking about Clapton. When it comes to blues, I just don't believe he has "it". I don't much buy Jimi Hendrix or Rory Gallagher as bluesmen either. All great musicians though..

  • @abuelantastico You really don't know what you're talking about do you ?

  • @abuelantastico that's a cop out. You don't have to be black to be blue. Is Yo Yo Ma not a real classic cello virtuoso just because he isn't a descendant of 18th century masters? You're too narrow minded. The notes are out there for anyone to use. How you put it together is what makes it yours, not your genealogy.

  • Can you feel it? It is called the blues. 9 people can't.

  • Wauuuuu,,,,kun hän vaan osaa :)

  • Clapton is God.

  • i have this concert dvd. check out holy mother in hyde park. he plays great.

  • clapton is just super. he can do everything with the right style, never raping anything

  • listen to elmore james to see where clapton got started

  • pure passion seems like his inlove with this song

  • Eric is awesome as always, but don't ignore the bass player...whoever he is, he filled up as much or more air than Clapton did. Great all around.

  • Ow! It hurts me too! This is fargin awesome!

  • idolo! master! dios, god! everyting!!!!!

  • Would love to have seen Elmore and Eric on stage together. If you know Elmore just think how COOL that would have been.

  • Why do Clapton's teeth look funny in this video?

  • seems like 9 people are musical analphabets

  • esta de poca madre mucho feeling

  • Did anyone notice the piano is gutted and replaced with some electric thing?

  • Beautifulll!!!

    Thumbs UP

    Thanks Bry

    Juma

    *.*:)

  • @bryanoverturf1 Buddy Bry you killed me, but not softly:))) !!!

Thank you dear soul for this really great share!!!

Eric Clapton ... the rest of words ... needless... just MAGIC!

    Warm hugs

    :) Dana

  • Yesssssssssss!!!!!!!!!! How have I not heard this until now?!

  • Pretty awkward to hear Clapton sing this when you compare to Elmore James.

  • @untroubled totally agree. cant fault his guitar prowess, but hes no elmore.

he should stick to tears in heaven or layla

  • Seit dem ersten mal als ich es hörte wars mein lieblingstrairigblueslied.

  • 7 guys ain't never had the blues

  • and they will never get it .......

  • wut tuning is this song in? open D? or no?

  • @TheVondavious Its in open C# great song to play

  • @themaninbetween1 k man thanx

  • @TheVondavious standard

  • Fantastic! Why Clapton took too much time for Fender Guitars? Gibson is made for him!!

  • Eric's voice is GREAT.. to some he's no singer but you have to understand the style he sings is blues and is all about feeling, not screaching

  • Thats blues guys

  • @mikewm9v

    err.......stratocaster

  • clapton gets a bad rap for not having the best voice, but he sure knows how to deliver all the songs he sings

  • @gocubsgo2217 I think he has an fantastic voice for the blues. That's why I have trouble listening to John Mayer,, his whispy, pop like voice just makes me cringe.

  • Something about whenever Clapton gets his hands on a Gibson.

  • I listen to that sexy voice, and all I can say is "Damn."

  • The Hyde Park Show is great! A really interesting selection of material. Personal highlights for me: all the tunes off From the Cradle and a wicked version of I Shot the Sheriff. The closing with Holy Mother is also nice.

  • YEEAHH!!!

  • watching this hurts me. too much feelings ugh its overwhelming

  • drums...check

    bass...check

    piano...check indeed

    rhythm git...yep

    plus slide and vocal=

    nailed to the wall

  • Das haut mich von Sockel!!! Geil gesungen von unserem White King of Blues!! Amazing!!!!!

  • hammer geiler song!!!!

  • stajao sam sam, cekao sam voz, sva moja ljubav, u meni je skroz, kad krene lose, kad vreme svene, boli i mene. pruzila si ruku, rekla si mi zbogom, svi moji vagoni, sad idu za tobom. kad oci se sklope , i muzika krene, boli i mene. zivot me nije nikada mazio, zivot me nije nikada pazio, prolaze parovi, odlaze zene, boli i mene, pruzila si ruku, rekla si mi zbogom, svi moji vagoni, sad idu za tobom. kad oci se sklope , i muzika krene, boli i mene.
  • holy shit!

  • 6 dislikes? who dislikes that song? omg...

  • Sang it ERIC honey!!! Oh yeah!

  • I WANT THAT GUITAR... grand

  • thank you to whoever posted this. amazing.

  • One wish before I leave this world - I want to hear Eric Clapton live.

  • This is awesome. But I like the original by Freddie King better.

  • @djgca1

No, original by TAMPA RED then ELMORE JAMES

  • Very nice Cover! *****

  • Drums: Steve Gadd. Keyboards: Chris Stainton. Bass: Dave Bronze. Guitar: Andy Fairweather. vocals: Tessa Niles-Katie Kisson.

  • I think he's the only white man who can say that he knows what means to "have the blues". He didn't have an easy life at all.

  • To the 6 people who DON'T like this song, I ask.....WHERE ARE YOUR BRAINS?!! This song is AWESOME!

  • OMG! Total orgasm!

  • Anyone know what tuning Eric is in here?

  • i'm pretty sure open D.

    the chords are D G A

im guessing with a few changes ( the bass changes sometimes, add a 7 here and there... BLUES !)

  • i'm not saying he did a bad cover. hell his instrumental may even be better, but it seems like he took the feeling, the soul, the pain out of the song that elmore put in through vocals and other instrumental variations

  • My ALL-TIME favorite Clapton/ Elmore James song!

  • this one not playing?

  • check out rory gallagher if u like blues&rock the best underrated guitarist ever

  • I played harmonica with Rory a few times when he arrived from Ireland, with the original "Taste". About 1967.He was a true gentleman and a great musician. His manager then was called Mr Kennedy, who got him into the "big time". He then was signed by Robert Stigwood. The original "Taste" bass player and drummer moved on, and were replaced with guys from another Irish band, "Cheese"... That was the "Taste" that got famous.

Rory was probably the best blues guitarist i have ever played with.

  • Youtube's acount "againstthegrain57" has great rare live footage from rory... when he's playing live you can see how great a bluesman he really is

  • @broonpie Same like Steve Ray Vaughn

  • @broonpie if you are saying that, you must have heard what Jimi Hendrix had to say about Rory.

  • @broonpie Yes, Rory Gallagher is very good. Bullfrog Blues. He is underrated.

  • awesome song!

everyday i have to listen to ec and blues

  • @mkeywork who doesnt? :D

  • @mkeywork, You and I BOTH!

  • @mkeywork , So do I! That's my ALL-TIME FAVORITE Blues song!

  • nothin' hurts so bad that good Blues can't fail; but to make it feel better.

    xoxe

  • it's actually a gibson byrdland

  • Clapton>God

  • oohw my god.. I just love him.. thank god i'm going to his concert the 29th of mei!!!!!!

  • Awesome video!!! But does he have a priest playing 2nd guitar? Was that a collar I saw?

  • Idcwishing:

I don't think so. Seem an english jacket, and the white thing seems a T shirt to me.

  • Thats a kickass jacket!!!!

  • Yeah. And he does a damn good job.

  • Is Clapton playing slide at the start of the song?? Sounds like it to me, but I can't see!! Anybody?

  • Uh yeah

  • @4rainbowed

yes he does... and not only in the begining...
