So... Actually because heat is by definition a transfer of energy from one medium to another no single object can "have heat" just like if you pour water from a cup you don't say it "has pour" when it's full of water. Technically he's talking about internal energy.

Heat is a different quantity, but is closely related by the first law of thermodynamics to internal energy of the system. But since the video is for kids, I guess it doesn't matter, and it makes more sense to kids to say "heat energy" rather than (deg/2) N k_b dT = dQ - dW.
