I think is game is OK, If you play God of War is easy to jump in and play the game, because the both game are familiar, so is cool. They are Greek Mythology, Christianity, they should make Chinese Mythology,they are alot of god and monster too.

No people you wont believe how much this game is similiar to GoW.No i mean really.Grappling,controls,dodging,reflection,quick mini games,mounting...This game isnt bad at all.I reccomend it if you dont have ps3(gow 3).
I absolutely love this game! It took me 2 days to beat it the first time on zealot, and it was one of the greatest video game experiences of my life. It will definitely not be the last time I play it, especially since there's so much to do in this game. Between the story mode, gates of hell arena, and multiplayer that's coming soon, this game will keep me occupied for awhile
@gii0 gates of hell arena is a mode you unlock after you beat the the game. Its not online, its kind of like a survival mode. I believe the Trials of St. Lucia will be online, but I could be wrong

Well many of the similarities you mentioned between Dante's and GOW is typical for all hack 'n' slash. I've played GOW and Dante's and sure the gameplay is similar but I wouldn't go as far as calling it a ripoff. Many Hack 'n' slash are similar in this way,
This game is amazing it gets played a lot at the weekends with my friends they are really good at it. I actually got it utterly free for my ps3 here - 115 games . c o m they have thousands and the best thing is they are all free also I must say 2:11 2 2:41 was top notch

actually kratos has been to hell n back twice. kratos died twice in GOW 1 and GOW 2 the first tiem he how impaled by ares with a pointy pilar and the seccond time kratos died was right after zeus stabbed him with the sword. the only diference is that kratos was way too strong to be held down in hell or "the underworld" but i must say this i've already beated dantes inferno its a good game i like it and to spoil the end the will be another dante game. XD..

no, epic poem. there is a genre called epic poem, dante's poem is an 'epic poem' just like homer's odyssey. length does have a big part to do with it but there are more criteria involved. when people say epic poem, 'epic' is not really being used as a traditional adjective like if you were to say 'that was an epic scene!'

Consider the many similar things between the modern FPS out there.

Dante's Inferno is pretty much the same as GoW with regards to combat, but with less stuff and clunkier controls. it adds NOTHING new whatsoever. plus, the level design is crap in the whole 2nd half.
Not saying that it is not, but saying that it is going to suck because of that it over the top. As far as games people use other games ideas all the time, more so when the makers of those games come over and work on yours.

it isn't over the top. this game just took a few ideas from GoW, and did a shitty emulation of them, but added virtually NOTHING unique to them. that being said, sure its fun at first, but that doesn't change the fact that its a blatant rip off with no unique merit to it. plus, the fun part only lasts for about a third of the game, and then the game becomes a repetitive, badly designed borefest.
According to who? I get that they look a like but that alone is not that deciding factor. I take it you have played it.
Also one thing to consider is that GOW is a Playstation exclusive. So while that is great for people that have one, not many people are going to sink the money for a PS3 and the game in today's economy. So I am not really worried about if this game looks like GOW.

But most people who see a hack and slash game call it a GoW rip-off, just because GoW made that kind of combat system big (I may be wrong or right). But that's all people think about. "It's a rip-off of GoW because it uses the same combat system" Ive seen this on dozens of videos, and then pages of continuing to rant about the same thing. Also, people saying 'Darksiders' and 'Bayonnetta' being rip-offs of GoW cause of this.
Also every beat em up is the same god knows why everyone thinks this is a god of war knock off it could be a devil may cry knock off but no one complains about that
a 6.5 is really harsh, maybe a 8 or 9 but you can see that there was a ridiculos rush to try and beat god of war 3 there are some reall poor executions especially with jus 1 weapon or 2. It's not that bad. You get the scythe and the cross and you can upgrade them for different executions on them. It's fun and works out well to me. Guess it's what you are looking for though... more weapons would be fucking awesome though!

well , i wish i had ps3 , i bought xbox360 when it came out ( still hasn't gave out on me). only thing about ps3 that was a turn off was first the price, and at the time ps3 really had no good games out, I don't regret getting xbox but i hate the fact i pay 60 dollars for a game and have to pay another 15-30 bucks for onlineplay and addons, im sure even the most devout xbox fan feels my pain too , shit money doesn't grow on trees you know
yeah the guy at gamestop was mad cause his Xbox Elite broke (after 2 years) so he doesn't have to pay anything to get it fixed... but he was at the end of Mass Effect 2 and needed 1/2 hr more to finish it, now he has to wait. I was like.. damn... well at least you get to play it cause it's not for PS3. BTW i'm liking Dante's Inferno now :)
This game was rated low by IGN probably because it;s not original at all, but it's not suppose to be. This game was made by the same designers for GoW and probably made not as a series or big project but as a arcade-like game.
If you pretend GoW never existed, and play this game, it'll be AMAZING. The graphics are awesome and the gameplay, althought completely copied, is fun nevertheless
Well I have noticed that they always prefer 360 over the PS3 almost all the time if not always, the head to head graphic comparisons are a perfect example, the graphics are mostly the same and the only different are the light and contrast setting that ign tweeks anyway to make the 360 superior.

In a way, it kind of reminds me of Darksiders, with the souls as money, when enimies are weak u can do speacial moves, just more demons :P

it isn't over the top. this game just took a few ideas from GoW, and did a shitty emulation of them, but added virtually NOTHING unique to them. that being said, sure its fun at first, but that doesn't change the fact that its a blatant rip off with no unique merit to it. plus, the fun part only lasts for about a third of the game, and then the game becomes a repetitive, badly designed borefest.

According to who? I get that they look a like but that alone is not that deciding factor. I take it you have played it.
Also one thing to consider is that GOW is a Playstation exclusive. So while that is great for people that have one, not many people are going to sink the money for a PS3 and the game in today's economy. So I am not really worried about if this game looks like GOW.

@PlayrBitz Yes you have pointed out things that make it similar to GoW. But most people who see a hack and slash game call it a GoW rip-off, just because GoW made that kind of combat system big (I may be wrong or right). But that's all people think about. "It's a rip-off of GoW because it uses the same combat system" Ive seen this on dozens of videos, and then pages of continuing to rant about the same thing. Also, people saying 'Darksiders' and 'Bayonnetta' being rip-offs of GoW cause of this.

a 6.5 is really harsh, maybe a 8 or 9 but you can see that there was a ridiculos rush to try and beat god of war 3 there are some reall poor executions especially with jus 1 weapon or 2. It is to clean were it should be messy especially in violence and anger why is so clean there janitoral bill must be super high i hope there are downloadable weapons cause the 1 scythe is reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly lame but read about the history of the poem will make u think

It's not that bad. You get the scythe and the cross and you can upgrade them for different executions on them. It's fun and works out well to me. Guess it's what you are looking for though... more weapons would be fucking awesome though!
LOL at the clean anger level. I think the graphics rock on this but God of War is gonna be NASTY GOOD

well , i wish i had ps3 , i bought xbox360 when it came out ( still hasn't gave out on me). only thing about ps3 that was a turn off was first the price, and at the time ps3 really had no good games out, I don't regret getting xbox but i hate the fact i pay 60 dollars for a game and have to pay another 15-30 bucks for onlineplay and addons, im sure even the most devout xbox fan feels my pain too , shit money doesn't grow on trees you know

yeah the guy at gamestop was mad cause his Xbox Elite broke (after 2 years) so he doesn't have to pay anything to get it fixed... but he was at the end of Mass Effect 2 and needed 1/2 hr more to finish it, now he has to wait. I was like.. damn... well at least you get to play it cause it's not for PS3. BTW i'm liking Dante's Inferno now :)

This game was rated low by IGN probably because it;s not original at all, but it's not suppose to be. This game was made by the same designers for GoW and probably made not as a series or big project but as a arcade-like game.
If you pretend GoW never existed, and play this game, it'll be AMAZING. The graphics are awesome and the gameplay, althought completely copied, is fun nevertheless

Well I have noticed that they always prefer 360 over the PS3 almost all the time if not always, the head to head graphic comparisons are a perfect example, the graphics are mostly the same and the only different are the light and contrast setting that ign tweeks anyway to make the 360 superior.

:) im just done with the game. and well, the first chapter is really an wow feeling, when it comes to bosses, enemys places, but ofter an while there arent that many more wow feeling left.
anyway an wow start ride, that and with an good game.

awful review. It's full of sarcasm and 95% is a commentary of the game, which is not a review. the actual review during the last 30 seconds is over generalised and is nothing we couldn't have used our own initiative to judge from the nine minutes of gameplay footage. very poor.
