LOL. when i made an apple pie mini for thanksgiving. i did it the hard way. i baked a piece of light yellow clay for the apples and after it was hard, i sliced it up to look like apples and lined them up on the pie pan. and to make it shiny, i used the triple thick glaze and put in some light brown paint to make it look kinda like the glaze in the pie.

the glaze you put on the apple slices kinda looks dark enough to be chocolate pudding. for the edging the way you did it with a lighter color of clay could you go over it with chalk to make it darker?

@youdarlene505 It's been over a year so I'm not exactly sure. I'm thinking it's Premo brand and flesh colored. Flesh color is often an excellent starting point for foods.

Yes, you use your real oven. It won't hurt it at all. The only bad part are the fumes if you burn it. But that's bad to living things... not your oven. You'll do fine, just take your time and enjoy the clay!
