Thanks for posting this rare video. When I was staying at Volcanoes Nat'l Park, a Ranger gave a talk and showed a film about various eruptions around the Park. The Ranger was actually there during the Kilauea Iki eruption, people were allowed to view it. He said it was so loud, he felt it in your chest, as if there were a hundred airplanes taking off. Kilauea Iki's fountains were/are the tallest ever measured.

i was only 3 yrs old but i remember seeing it on tv with my family. this was just the beginning of Pele coming forth and showing her mighty powers.

A solution for what? To try to stop eruptions? The earth is venting, stopping that would lead to bigger problems.
